Waiting Fog
The closer they got, the quieter the world became.
Not peaceful.
Wrong.
As if sound itself was being swallowed by the hill ahead.
Akra Hill rose from the ground like a wound in the earth.
Covered in thick fog.
Hidden from the sky.
Unnaturally still.
Adam slowed his steps.
Something in his chest tightened.
Not fear of infected.
But the feeling of being watched.
Behind him, no one spoke.
Even Myra had stopped looking at anything except the path.
Diana stayed close, scanning the fog with tense precision.
Farid was already different.
Silent.
Focused.
Observing.
ðŦïļ ENTERING THE FOG
The moment they stepped into Akra HillâĶ
the world disappeared.
Sound vanished.
Distance vanished.
Even direction felt uncertain.
Kevin whispered:
"I can't see anythingâĶ"
His voice sounded too far awayâĶ even though he was right there.
Asha:
"This placeâĶ it feels like it's swallowing us."
Zul raised his weapon slightly.
Not at infected.
At the fog itself.
Zul:
"Stay close. Don't lose sight of each other."
But the fog didn't obey rules.
It shifted.
It separated them.
Slightly.
Deliberately.
ð§ FARID NOTICES FIRST
Farid suddenly stopped walking.
Everyone nearly bumped into him.
He crouched.
Touched the ground.
Then looked up slowly.
Farid (low voice):
"This isn't natural fogâĶ"
Adam turned.
Adam:
"What do you mean?"
Farid didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he pointed.
At faint marks in the soil.
Footprints.
Old.
Multiple layers.
Some recent.
Some not.
Farid:
"People have been here."
A pause.
Then colder:
Farid:
"Not just people."THE DISCOVERY
Diana noticed something half-buried near a broken stone.
She pulled it free.
A metal tag.
Faded.
Stamped with a symbol no one recognized.
Diana:
"ThisâĶ doesn't belong in a forest."
Myra stepped closer to Adam without realizing it.
Her hand lightly brushed his sleeve.
But Adam didn't react.
His eyes were fixed ahead.
Because something was forming in the fog.
A structure.
Not ruins.
Not nature.
A facility.
𧎠THE TRUTH BEGINS TO SHOW
Zul muttered:
"No wayâĶ this wasn't here by accident."
Farid's expression darkened.
"This place wasn't abandoned."
A pause.
Then:
"It was hidden."
The fog parted slightly.
Revealing a broken gate.
Rust-covered.
Half-collapsed.
But still standing.
On itâĶ a sign.
Barely visible.
But enough to change everything.
"AKRA RESEARCH SITE"
Silence fell.
Not from fear of zombies.
But from something worse.
Understanding. Journey to Akra Hill
The city was no longer alive.
Only silenceâĶ and decay.
Adam stood at the front, staring at the road that led out of the ruined town.
Behind him were the people who were still alive.
Not just one group anymore.
They had become one.
ðĨ The Group
From the pharmacy:
Kamal
Raj
Kevin
Asha
Lyana
From the streets:
Malik
Myra
Diana
Farid
Zul
Rahman
And AdamâĶ leading them all.
Malik:
"So this is itâĶ Akra Hill?"
Adam:
"It's the only lead we have."
Farid (cold tone):
"Or the biggest trap we're walking into."
No one replied.
Because no one could prove him wrong.
They started moving.
Through broken roads.
Through empty buildings.
Through a world that had already died.
ð§ââïļ FIRST ATTACK
A sound broke the silence.
A scream.
Then footsteps.
Too many.
From between abandoned carsâĶ infected began to appear.
Slow at first.
Then more.
And more.
Kevin:
"They're coming from everywhere!!"
Asha:
"DON'T LET THEM SURROUND US!"
Panic spread.
Zul stepped forward instantly.
Zul:
"Back formation! NOW!"
He swung his weapon down, taking the first infected.
Myra stayed close to Adam.
Not just for safetyâĶ
but because she refused to lose sight of him.
âïļ SECOND WAVE
More infected rushed from the side streets.
Raj grabbed a metal pipe.
Raj:
"This is insane!! There's too many!"
Kamal pulled him back.
Kamal:
"Don't stop moving!"
Diana pointed ahead.
Diana:
"Road is blocked!! Left side alley!"
Farid (fast):
"No choice. Move!"
They ran.
ð§ CHAOS ESCALATES
Infected poured in from rooftops, alleys, and broken shops.
It was no longer escape.
It was survival.
Rahman suddenly stopped.
Adam:
"Rahman?! MOVE!"
Rahman looked at the group.
Calm.
Too calm.
Rahman:
"Someone has to slow them down."
Silence hit the group.
Myra (shocked):
"NoâĶ don'tâ"
But Rahman already stepped forward.
Adam (shouting):
"RAHMAN!!"
Rahman created a loud distraction, pulling the infected toward him.
All of them.
Rahman (last words):
"Don't waste this chanceâĶ go."
He ran into the opposite direction.
Alone.
ðŦïļ AFTERMATH
The group kept moving.
Breathing hard.
Hands shaking.
But still alive.
Lyana (quietly):
"We're losing peopleâĶ"
No one answered.
Myra looked at Adam.
But Adam didn't look back.
ð§ FINAL MOMENT .
The road finally opened.
A broken sign stood ahead:
"AKRA HILL â 2 KM"
But Farid stopped.
His eyes narrowed.
Farid:
"This placeâĶ it's not empty."
A cold wind passed through.
And from the fog aheadâĶ
a sound returned.
Not infected footsteps.
Something else.
Waiting.
