I saw Sera sitting on the wall where we'd stood together weeks ago, back when things between us were simple, uncomplicated and good.
She heard me approaching, I saw her shoulders tense slightly but she didn't turn around, she just kept staring out like I wasn't there. I climbed up and stood beside her, leaving some space between us.
My wolf stirred restlessly under my skin, unhappy with the separation, wanting to go close, I pushed the feeling down.
