It Started for Her

“Get off her,” Madeline screamed as she held a sword out to help a young lady who was screaming while being attacked by two creatures. “I said get off her,” she threw stones at one of the creatures who was on top of the women and it turned its full attention to her. It was hairy, long arms and legs and sharp tooth and nails. It has no hair on its skin but its pale skin make it seem like it has hair, with the goosebumps on it. No eyes, a small ear on the head. It growls whisperingly as it tries to find Madeline’s position to attack her. Madeline looked at it frowning and over and behind it to the lady on the ground, with the other creature holding her arms still to the ground. It seemed like it was reconnecting to the ground as it also was taking her down with itself. She swallowed hard and picked up another stone and casted it to the other creature that was holding the women down on the ground. The woman was screaming, but she wasn’t doing anything other than that; not even fidgeting. Her arms above her head as she was held still to the ground by the other creature and the one that turned its attention to Madeline was on her belly. They were deep in the wood and it was getting dark. “Help!” she is still screaming and still not moving though both the creatures are already off of her. “What’s with her?” Madeline whispered as she tried taking steps backward, receding away from the creatures that were approaching her direction. With every step she took she realized that their ears grasped the sound of her movement and they also took a step further close to her. She licked her lower lip wet frowning as she kept her mind busy with thought. It was only their ears that were moving and leading them towards her. she calmed herself down; closing her eyes she inhaled and exhaled through her nose, just as they were doing, she tended to use her ears alone and beat them in their own way. She spent three days roaming around in this world and she wasn’t able to find anything that she was looking for. She wasn’t able to understand why cruelty was too much and that the humans there seemed lost. She finally understood she wasn’t in Purgatory. She wouldn’t expect Purgatory would be good, but she didn’t expect it to be this bad either; it was in their history, back in Axis-Mundi, stated that it was once a place of beauty and happiness. She didn’t dare leave her entry point and move further away, since she feared she might get lost. She may have been ready for a surprise, but not as surprising as she was facing and wasn’t ready to take risk either. By far, it was her first time that she walked far from her entry point, as she was following the sound of the screaming lady; she thought if she can help her then she might be able to get someone to speak with and maybe know more about her whereabout. She slowly lifts her right foot up from the ground and realized that they also made a move, she placed her foot down and too many footsteps she heard. A wind blow on her face and she gasp quietly, in fear. She didn’t open her eyes but she was sure there was something standing right before her and closer. She pressed her lips slowly as they shake fighting her tears restrained under her eyelids. “Hhheeeellllpppp,” the woman’s voice slowly disappeared and she slowly opens her eyes. She wasn’t exactly sure how to make sense out of what was before her, but it was wrapped in a lucifer black cloak or garment, she wasn’t sure. The deep blackness of its cloak makes the situation and the area feel much more depressing that it already was. She slowly and fearfully looked up to the tall figure standing before her. She realized that it was in human form but her feeling was so sure that it was something different. She has never run into anything different other than humans, wild creatures and the elves. She never even ran into a god and the thing before her, in a man figure, felt different, dangerous and something she never even imagined. It slowly slides the hood of the cloak off from its head and she gasped closing her eyes. She waited till it attacked her but no movement at all, she slowly opens her eyes once again and only to lock gaze with a fire red glowing eye. Her eyes and gasping wider in even deeper shock. “A fairy in Limbo,” his voice was much deeper and stern. He already lifted his hands and held her on her arms, he was hot, very hot that it burnt her cloak and made contact to her skin. Madeline may have walked to the woods and away from the entry point to save a woman but she turned out to be helpless herself. She screamed as loud as she could hoping to get help or at list to get rid of the shock out her system. *** He took her further away from her entry point; her, lips gagged, hand tied and pulling her by the rope. He covers quite a distance that she was getting tired already and she would sometimes fall and got dragged and then he would help her stand and then yank her to follow him once again. Even with her muffled voice she wasn’t tired to insult him and he would look at her and then breathes a smile and proceed on the walk. He walked till it was night and morning. “Okay, we can take some rest here,” he finally decided as he ceased on his walk. He took a sit on the ground and looked up to her, she was standing as she was breathing heavy, but he pulled her down and made her fall and join him on the seat. “You wouldn’t believe it but, this aria used to light up even during a day and it was beautiful. Before the war, I mean,” he pressed a smile as he looked at Madeline who was looking at him in disappointed arched forehead; he leaned on his left right elbow looking at her closer. “Didn’t I say you wouldn’t believe me?” he looked away making her roll her eyes and shake her head. “Shush,” he whispered to her, holding his left-hand index finger to his lips. “I know you have a lot to say but...” he shrugged looking at her pulling the gag off her lips and down to her neck. “Help!” she screamed turning her head away. “I can feel you’re something bad, I could have died falling, you hurt me, burnt me... heeeelp!” nothing. Everything was quiet and he was looking at her surprised to her crazy reaction. She cleared her throat rough and swallowed nothing down her dray throat. She shook her messy hair back and pressed her dry lips as she looks back into those calmed black eyes. He seemed baffled and surprised, as if he ran out of words. He was handsome; tan skin, bold head, deep seat eyes, straight nose and thin lips. His diamond shaped face was under immaculate skin and his jaw lines was too perfect. His neck seemed sturdy and his body stiff with those well build muscles. He was handsome in his own ways; though his skin has slight cracking and shows fire under his skin, his calmness and strength gave him different look than the feeling she was getting about him. There was something she saw in him; beyond the putrid affection he was offering her. “Water,” she whispered and he nods pressing his lips down. “I need water,” she added. “Okay,” he looked away to the end of the road and held a water barrier up from his hip hanger. “Would you like this?” he asked her and she nodded. He handed it over to her and she drank from it but spat it out. “This isn’t water,” she scolded him. “Well, I don’t have one on me,” he pressed a simple smile on his lips. “What are you, exactly?” she shook her head and close her eyes as she once again tried to take a sip from the alcohol, he handed her. “Well, what type of fairy are yo...” “Person of peace, not a fairy,” she scolded him with her voice projected. “What type of that are you?” he asked her unsure and they both stay quiet for a while. “Good one, with open mind and,” she shook her head closing her eyes as she tried to maintain composure. “I didn’t mean to come to Limbo, but...” she bit her lower lip looking to his direction. She changed her mind on feeding him on the information and took another sip from the alcohol; it was stronger than wine and different test. “What is it like?” he asked her sitting up and pressing a smile. He seemed excited but she didn’t know what he was asking her about. “The drink,” he shook his head as he cleared his question. “Wait, you don’t know what it tests like?” she asked surprised and he tilted to his left. “Ohhhh,” she giggled but then burst out in laughter. “Are you serious?” she asked still giggling. “How magnificent to see you laughing,” he uttered quietly as he looks into her eyes and she ceased on her laughter. “Well, it’s not like wine,” she answered as she looks away. “What does wine test like?” she slowly turned to still a glimpse of him. “Like wine?” she wasn’t sure if he was really asking her. “What does win...” “Okay, are you going to kill me already or not?” she barked at him to escape his question. “I’ve changed my mind already.” “What?” she was shocked to confirm he was thinking of killing her. “Yes, I’ve changed my mind, you will tell me about a lot of things,” he pressed a smile. “No, I think, you should get on with your killing,” she tried to stand but he pulled her down by the rope once again and she shook her head screaming. “Tell me,” she shook her head as she rolled her eyes. “What type of fa...” she narrowed her eyes at him and he pressed his lips. “Person of peace, are you? How is it possible you don’t know me, what I am?” he asked her. He was surprised she wasn’t able to tell about him that easy. It was making him excited and he wanted to use the chance to get closer to her kind. “Oh, I do, I just don’t,” she narrowed her eyes and he widen his smile showing a straight tooth in line and she inhale deep and heavy as a thought crossed her mind. He was handsome and she was sure he doesn’t know it. “Okay, honest answer,” she said as she looked down. “I left Axis-Mundi with my rebellious mother who helped a Nephilim. I left younger, I didn’t get the chance to learn or ran into many kinds.” “Oh,” he looked away lost in thought. “No one was sure the rumor was true,” he added. “What rumor?” she asked. “Words has it, a person of peace helped Nephilim and exit Axis-Mundi to earth with her full power,” he narrowed his eyes. “No one is sure for we didn’t get word from my brother himself, he has lost touch with any of us, or us with him.” “True, and that is my mother, I...” she shook her head. “Wait, what else does the rumor has?” “She is helping and guiding mankind. Worlds are against her rebellious moves, she may have those who followed her but she is outnumbered with all the skilled warriors after her,” he stood up after setting her free. “But she did nothing wrong, except to the lows of Axis-Mundi,” she mumbled. “But she is moving against the rule of nature,” he answered to her. “Man should find its path its own ways,” he looked ahead. “If you like we can teach each other, about one another,” he offered her his hand and she took it standing up from the ground. “You must be,” he pressed a simple smile on his lips. “Tyballa,” he said. “Madeline, it’s Madeline now,” she cleared herself. “Alright Madeline, I am Sorath, son of...” “Qumuel, you’re a Nephilim,” she whispered as she looks at him in fear and he nods quietly. She had two choices in Limbo, she would either take the chance learn about Sorath or since he has set her free go and roam around to find her way out. “I would like to help you, in ways I would return your mother’s favor, for helping my brother, or you are free,” he spreads his hands in the air, indicating her have let her go already. “I think I’ll use this chance, to know your kind,” she clears her hair off her face. “Maybe you can help me,” she looked up and into his eyes and pressed a fearful smile to him. “Maybe,” he answered quietly looking at her.
