Chapter 3

The velvet darkness of the office didn't just hide them from the world; it stripped away the clinical titles that kept them apart. Dianna’s back was pressed hard against the cold wood of her desk, her breath hitching as David’s large, calloused hand slid from her jaw down to her throat, slowly mapping the frantic, chaotic rhythm of her pulse. She should have been screaming. She should have been trying to reach for the emergency scalpel hidden in her top drawer. But her body refused to obey. The cold, suffocating order of her life was completely dissolving under the intoxicating heat radiating from his chest. "You're not screaming, Dianna," David whispered, his lips brushing against the sensitive skin beneath her ear, sending an electric shiver straight down her spine. "Bakit? Is this the part of your textbook you didn't know how to answer?" "You... you can't get away with this, David," Dianna managed to breathe out, though her voice lacked any real professional authority. It was a breathless whimper, a desperate attempt to hold onto her crumbling reality. "The backup generators will kick in. The guards will find you." "Let them try," David growled softly, a low, vibration that rumbled against her chest. In one swift, effortless movement, his hand traveled down to the collar of her buttoned-up blouse. With a sharp, sudden pull, the top three buttons tore away, clinking onto the floor in the dark. The cool air of the room hit her exposed skin, immediately followed by the searing, possessive slide of his bare palm against her collarbone. He wasn't just breaking her security protocols; he was systematically dismantling the cage she had built around her own desires. Dianna gasped, her hands instinctively coming up to push against his shoulders. But the moment her fingers touched the hard, defined muscles of his chest—unrestricted, raw, and trembling with a dangerous energy—her grip tightened instead, bunching the fabric of his orange jumpsuit. "Sinasabi ng utak mo na lumaban ka," untag ni David, his hazel eyes catching the faint, ambient moonlight filtering through the window, glowing like a predator in the night. "But your body is begging me to destroy you. You've been dying to know what it feels like to lose control, Doktora. I can feel it. Ang bilis ng t***k ng puso mo." David didn't wait for her to deny it. He leaned down and captured her mouth in a bruising, dominant kiss that completely stole the air from her lungs. It was a violent collision of intellect and madness. His tongue invaded her mouth possessively, tasting the leftover whiskey on her lips, demanding her total submission. Dianna let out a muffled sob against his mouth, but instead of pulling away, she arched her back into him, her thighs parting slightly as his heavy knee nudged its way between her legs, pinning her completely to the desk. The sensation was overwhelming, terrifyingly erotic. He bit her bottom lip just hard enough to draw a drop of copper-sweet blood, licking it away immediately with an agonizingly slow stroke of his tongue. His hands slid under her skirt, his long, artistic fingers digging into the soft flesh of her thighs, pulling her flush against his rigid, aching length. "My twenty-seventh," David murmured against her swollen lips, his breathing as ragged and uneven as hers. "You were supposed to be my next victim, Dianna. But I think I'm going to keep you instead. You're mine, now." Before the boundary between pleasure and madness could completely consume them, a sudden red emergency light began to flash in the corridor outside. The facility’s secondary backup system was finally initializing. The low hum of distant alarms started to echo down the hallway. David slowly pulled back, his fingers lingering on her hip, his eyes locking onto hers in the crimson strobe of the emergency light. He looked completely untamed, a beautiful monster who had just tasted his favorite prey. "The game is just beginning, sweetheart," David whispered, leaning in to press one final, lingering kiss on her throat, right where his teeth grazed her skin like a promise. With a dark, wicked smile, he let go of her waist and stepped backward into the shadows of the room just as the heavy footsteps of Officer Santos and his team began to pound down the corridor. "Doktora! Doktora, okay lang kayo?!" Santos shouted, throwing the office door open, his flashlight beam cutting through the darkness. Dianna stood frozen against her desk, her hands trembling as she clutched her torn blouse together. The room was empty. David was gone, vanishing into the ventilation shafts like a ghost. She looked at the panicked guards, her chest heaving, the taste of his mouth still burning on her lips. "Doktora? Anong nangyari?" Santos asked, noticing the shattered glass on the floor. Dianna swallowed hard, forcing her clinical mask back into place, though her heart was still screaming in the dark. "Nothing, Officer Santos. Just a power outage. Everything is perfectly under control." She knew she was lying. She knew she was already infected by his poison. And the worst part was, she couldn't wait for her next session in the dark.
