He traveled up and down the fourth floor, especially quiet just after 9 a.m. and could not find an office #444. The offices of Building 46 typically had a small, square window in the door. The dorm room doors typically had peepholes. Sam happened upon a single, unmarked room where #444 should have been that had neither. Sam knocked, and no one answered. A Congolese student poked his head out of a door perpendicular to what should have been #444. ‘There’s no one there,’ the student told Sam, startling him.
