The air around me thickened and I felt my breathing constrained. Like a choke from too much smoke. My eyes moulded and I could feel waters swirling, my vision blurred.
I could easily counter it. But I beared the wrath. I couldn't let anyone find out more about the memento I was passes on. Too many eyes make prone to uselessly atrocious endings. Mostly my head on the spike.
One thing the royals never tolerated was someone more powerful arising than them. Could be an individual or a collective of subjects. I did not intend to make my intentions known vividly.
“Audrey.” I managed to bring out the voice. “For f**k sake.”
“Did you think I would let you go so easily?” Her illusion spoke in my imaginary berth. She held the memento of manipulation and control. The king, queen and the royal priest were the only ones allowed protection against Audrey. Rest all were just stuck in the web of her mercy.
“Would never make that mistake.” I spat back. She grinned as if an approving achievement that I was speaking the language she wished to hear.

I was ready to say no when a tight invisible hand wrapped around my neck. I knew it was an illusion. One I can overcome.
Strangely it was my own hand choking my neck. I did not feel any relief. I wanted to kill myself. I found no reason to live. It was such a hassle. I would rather die than see another sand turn. I had no purpose to survive. I was all but a mere orphan. With no power or whatsoever. Just daydreams —
