Chapter Nine

I looked over myself in the full body-length mirror, I had my curls styled and was wearing the blue suit I had picked out at the mall a few days ago and a black button up collared shirt, "Does this look okay?" I mumble, trying to put on the blue tie that had come with the suit.

I sighed as I threw my hands down, giving up on the tie but before I could take it off a pair of hands stopped me. I looked up in the mirror making eye contact with a pair of purple ones, "You look gorgeous." he whispered in my ear as his hands went up to fix my tie.

I watch in the mirror as he easily ties the blue material around my neck, "There." he says fixing the collar over the tie, as he moves his hand away the tip of his fingers brush against my mark and I shiver.

I glare when I hear him chuckle, "You did that on purpose." I say turning to get my suit jacket that was on the bed. I put the jacket on and turn to look in the mirror again.

He smiles and comes up behind my again, "Maybe." he mumbles as he uses one of his hands to pull the side of my collar, "It's so beautiful..." he comments as he looks down at the bite mark on my neck. I look down at the mark through the mirror and then back up at him, but ended up looking away with a blush after again making eye contact with him.

It's been a few days since we marked and mated so it was already pretty much healed and was no longer swollen or had any redness, "Look..." he said grabbing my chin and forcing my eyes back to the mirror "Isn't it beautiful?" he asked with a smirk.

I immediately nod yes, not breaking eye contact with him causing him to let out a low chuckle, "Your not even looking at it, love."

I felt like shrinking in my spot as my face grew hotter, "Oh..." I mumbled embarrassingly.

He leaned closer to my face and planted a kiss on my jaw before moving to my ear, "You blush a lot for a alpha are you sure your not an omega?" he whispered teasingly, smirking again when my face became an impossibly darker shade of red.

He used his fingers to tilt my head up as he continued to trail kisses down my neck stopping at my collar, I bite down on my lip knowing where this was going when I started to feel his hands roaming my covered body. Unfortunately before we could get any farther there was a knock at the door.

Before either of us could answer Tyler walks in, "Ay Luka, you re-" he cuts off as his eyes land on us, "Oh? Am I interrupting something?" he questioned, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows at us.

"Yes-"

"Nope!" I answered, quickly cutting Antony off as I escaped his grasp and walked towards the door, ignoring his growl of disapproval. I ran my hands down my suit to sooth some of the wrinkles before hooking my arm around Tyler's, "We'll meet you in the car!" I said dragging Tyler out the room before my mate could grab me.

As we start to walk down the stairs, I hear him let out an irritated groan, "What?" I questioned.

"Oh, it's nothing." he said with a dramatic sigh, "You know, I just find it irritating that your selfish behavior is gonna get me killed before I even get to meet my mate."

I rolled my eyes with a chuckle, "Your over exaggerating, Tony wouldn't kill you."

Tyler gasped and his eyes widened in disbelief, "Are we talking about the same person?" he whispered.

"Oh shut up." I said and he laughed at my slight annoyance.

"Are y'all ready to go?" Kevin said as we reached the bottom of the stairs, he was dressed in a nice black suit with a white button up collar shirt underneath and wore a regular black tie with it.

"Where's Tony?" he questioned looking behind us.

"He's still getting ready, told him we'd meet him in the car." I answered and he nodded. Me and Tyler followed him out to a limo which was parked in the front of the pack house. "Isn't this a bit much?" I commented.

He chuckled as one of the pack members opened the door to the limo, "We're going to a ball, remember." he answered, stepping into the car.

"I aware of that but couldn't we have taken an SUV instead, this is too flashy." I replied as I also got into the car after Tyler.

"Well the whole point of a ball is to be flashy." he said grabbing his phone and immediately typing out and sending message to someone.

"You're still working even now?" Tyler snickered.

Kevin glances up from his phone before looking back with a sigh, "Well not everyone can afford to be as lazy as you." he bit back.

I stifled a laugh as Tyler furrowed his brows in annoyance, "Hey! what's the hell is that supposed to mean?" he questioned back.

Now it was Kevin turn to snicker, "Are you dumb or just in denial? My statement speaks for itself." he said with a devious smirk.

I tuned the rest of the argument out when I heard Tyler growl, "He's so easily upset." my wolf stated and I could almost see him rolling his eyes at our beta.

A few minutes later Antony finally came out, I made sure to take in his look as he walked to the car. He had his long hair put into a neat braid that ran down his back and was wearing an all black suit, with a black button up shirt, kind of like Kevin's except he had thin gold chains that connected either side of his suit jacket to each other in an elegant manner.

Once he got to the car Tyler moved to the other side of the limo next to Kevin so that Antony could sit next to me, "You ready?" Kevin asked once we were all settled. Antony answered with a simple nod and after Kevin mind linked the driver we were off.

As soon as we started moving Antony leaned down till his mouth was right by my ear and I could feel his breath hitting my neck, "I could feel your eyes on my even through the tinted glass." he whispered causing my eyes to widen.

"I wasn't looking at you like that!" I whispered-shouted, causing him to chuckle before leaning back up.

I jumped a little when his voice suddenly flooded into my head, "There you go with that cute blushing again." he said. Even though we had mated days ago we hadn't spoken through our link because we never need to since we were always together.

He let out a quiet chuckle as I remained silent. The rest of the ride consisted of Kevin doing work on his phone, Tyler making fun of him for doing work and my mate putting very indecent thoughts in my head.

Once we pulled up to the fancy building the other pack had prepared the ball to be held at Antony stepped out the car, reaching his hand back to help me out as Kevin and Tyler exited from the other side. Antony closed the door after me and I smiled tenderly before trying to head off towards the entrance.

As I tried to walk away I was stopped by my hand which was still intertwined with Antony's, "What's wrong?" I questioned, looking back at Antony's who's face had suddenly become serious.

"Love, make sure not to be by yourself tonight." he said as an emotion i couldn't place flashed in his eyes.

"Why?"

He paused as he came closer and tried to give a reassuring smile, "I'm just being cautious, we don't know how this other pack is or who they are."

I smirked before letting out a breath of a laugh, "Babe I'm an alpha, I can handle myself. Plus who would try to come after someone as intimidating as me." I tried to joke but my smile fell when his face became even more serious than before.

"Luka, Im serious. I need you to promise me that you won't be by yourself tonight, even if that means staying with Tyler the whole night."

"Okay okay, I won't stay alone." I answered with a nervous chuckle. He looked me in the eyes before sighing a couple seconds later.

He gave a small smile as he began to walk towards the entrance pulling me with him by the hand, "Alright let go inside." he said. i returned his smile with a nod, deciding to ignore how weird he had been acting just a few seconds ago.
