~Racheal~
It had been almost a week now since I temporarily moved in with Cain. After uncle had unceremoniously fled the house after making sure I was 'nice and settled', the house had echoed with silence.
For what felt like hours but only a couple of minutes, Cain and I hadn't moved an inch, the both of us quitely processing the idea of us sharing the same space.
Neither of us had to worry about that though. The only rule we had to respect was each other's private space and then neither of us would have any problems.
Cain was a rich rich boy. His house was large, so therefore we didn't have to worry about bumping into each other. Like he had explained, his maids came in everyday for their respective roles and then they were out of sight.
I found myself marveling at the luxury of it all. While I hated him, I was actually glad that there was one good thing that he had and it was his wealth. It made living with him a bit bearable.
Oh. I also had the luxury of driving his car. I was actually glad I could save up on the bus fare which therefore meant less expenses and spending for me.
I strolled through the cafeteria doors, eyes skimming through the crowd as I looked for my friends. Kayla spotted me first and waved over to me as I made my way to our usual spot.
Davie clutched onto his phone, seemingly engaged in whatever he was watching on it. As soon as I was seated, I glanced at Kayla's plate, noticing a few lettuce leaves, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions rings. It was a salad.
I vaguely recalled her telling me about her two week diet. Looks like she had already started on it.
"Hi." I greeted. "How was everyone's weekend?"
"Nothing special happened except for my obvious weight gain." Kayla mumbled around a forkful of veggies. She looked like she was truly enjoying her meal. I envied her for that. Vegetables weren't my specialty.
"What about you, goldilocks?" I asked, aiming the question at Davie. He still hadn't taken his eyes off his screen.
"I got f*caked, and she seriously rode-"
"TMI."
Kayla and I echoed at the same time, not bothered at all by what he was saying. We were already used to it.
"Speaking of which," Kayla gently placed her fork on the plate as she silently chewed. Davie gently sipped on his juice. "What ever happened to you? You didn't return on Sunday and I noticed some of your stuff was missing?"
"Well, that's because I won't be with you for a little while." I vaguely explained, already dreading the direction this conversation was going.
"Why is that?"
I took in much needed air. Here we go. "That's because I moved in with Cain."
*Silence*
And then it was filled with chocking sounds and simultaneously followed by Davie spitting out his drink. I inwardly rolled my eyes. There were being overly dramatic.
I soundly thumped at Kayla's back as Davie whipped his mouth and the table clean. "That was one good joke, Racheal. You completely caught us there."
Kayla agreed as soon she was done clearing her air holes.
"Guys, I'm not joking. I'm completely serious."
They both shared a look. With another deep sigh, I told the story and everything that had happened up until this morning when we had both arrived at school together.
"Holy meat balls"
"No f*cking way."
Kayla and Davie both echoed at the same time.
"Yeah. That's how my week went. Anyway, it's only for a couple of weeks and everything will be over."
"Hmmmm. If you say so. So tell us, how is it living with that hot piece of muscle?" Kayla wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. "Have you tasted it yet? Any late night 'quests' you haven't told us about?"
I snorted, quitely eating my food. "Please, if aliens were real, I would choose them over him any time of the day."
"Whatever you say." Kayla smirked like she knew better. She always did that when Cain became part of our topics.
"So, what is it like living with the legend himself? I had his parents give him a rather grand house." Davie inquired, and Kayla leaned forward, eager for information.
"It's very grand indeed. And very spacious. I'll probably gain a few pounds from the good food his maids make every single day."
"He's got maids?"
"He sure does."
Davie let a low whistle in amazement. "You lucky b*tch."
Soon the conversation entirely changed to another topic until we were getting ready for other classes.

"It's only a social gathering at a camp fire. I don't see why I should be wearing any makeup."
"Oh please. I'm not letting you walk out like that." Kayla said as she waved around the iron curler that was currently in her hands. "It would be a shame not to show off your best attributes."
"But I don't want to show them off." I grumbled as sat in the chair she had pointed me to. Arguing with her was a case already lost, and I knew that best.
I let her fuss around me as she repeatedly made adjustments to my long black curls and then she was rubbing a little lip gloss on my lips and then a little mascara to my lashes. I was glad it was nothing too much.
"There and all done." She clapped excitedly as she handed me a mirror to look at my reflection.
"Wow." I marveled at myself, satisfied and pleased at her handiwork. "You're a genius, Kayla."
"I know, right?" She smiled smugly. "Alright. Come on. We don't want to be late."
An hour later, we had arrived. Surprisingly, the place was already packed with people and the atmosphere was filled with light chatter and laughter.
"Come on." Kayla tugged on my arm as she walked ahead of me. "Let's find Davie."
I nodded and continued to follow her. It didn't take long to find him, but to our surprise he wasn't alone. I felt my lips tug upward as I smiled widely at the small brunette in Davie's arms.
"Natalie," Both Kayla and I echoed. She pulled herself out of her boyfriend's arms as her hazel eyes twinkled with delight. "You guys. It's been such a long time."
We both shared hugs with her as we grinned at each other. Natalie was Davie's highschool sweetheart and his current girlfriend. She was a cheerful and bubbly girl, but with quite a fierce temper.
The first time Davie had told us about her, we had both thought he was just making her up and was probably still not ready to come out. Well, that wasn't until... you know the rest of the story.
"How are you? This is such a pleasant surprise. Why didn't you tell us you were coming?"
"Well, it wouldn't be a surprise then." She giggled. "Besides, I wanted to see my darling here." She made googly eyes at Davie. He blew her a kiss.
"You guys saw each other last weekend." Kayla scrunched her nose at the obvious display of affection from the couple. " Get a room please."
"Get here babe." Davie pulled Natalie back in his arms. "She's just a jealous old sea witch."
I laughed along with Natalie while Davie and Kayla continued with their little fights.
Soon, the jazz music that had filled the air had soon turned to loud booming club music and the number had increased with every passing hour. People danced around the fire that had already been lit, and yeah. . . some couples were leaving nothing to the imagination as the humped one another to the music.
Kayla and I had stayed behind, dancing together as we each held cups filled with beer. Natalie and Davie had long disappeared (probably to find a room) but we didn't care much about them. They would be alright.
As we kept on dancing, someone kept on irritating me. It started out subtle, like it was only a mistake. But with every brush against my ass, the aggressor kept on, getting bolder each time .
I even switched positions moving from one spot to another but he followed me each time. I tried to ignore it, hoping that he would give up. I was stupid to think so, because the next thing he was doing was grabbing my ass.
I was ready to assault a living creature but I was beaten it by someone else.
"What the f**k is wrong with you?" The stranger said as he pushed at 'mr. grouper'. "Either get your f**king ass out of here or else I'll be reporting you for s****l assault and you'll be leaving with a bloody nose."
'Mr . grouper's' face paled and he was out of sight before any of us could blink. The stranger turned to me. "Miss, are you alright? I happened to see everything and I just couldn't stand it."
"Thanks, a lot for the assistance." I stared at the handsome stranger. I had to arch my neck since he was a lot taller than me. Cain was still taller than Hime though.
Cain? Why was I even thinking about him? Anyway, the stranger had dark locks that fell in his face, and his sides were trimmed. His jaw was really chiseled, giving him that model look a lot of companies looked for. And his eyes were a dark shade of brown. Almost black.
"What's your name?"
"Jeffrey." He replied, intently staring at me. "What's yours?"
"It's Racheal. Nice to meet you." I extended my hand to him and he shook it gently. I caught sight of Kayla as she walked our way. She had excused herself to the bathroom and that's when everything had started with that grouper.
"Hey Kayla, this is Jeffrey." Turning to Jeffrey, I pointed, "Jeffrey, meet Kayla, my best friend."
Kayla nodded at him before she excused herself and then she was pulling me away with her.
"What's up?" I asked as soon as we were out of hearing range.
"Errr, Racheal. Are you sure nothing's going on between Cain and you?"
I frowned at her. "What do you mean by that? I think I already told you nothing's going to happen between us. Like ever."
"Well," she looked like she was staring at something else behind me. " your mister has been glaring at you since that other mister," she pointed to Jeffrey, "started chatting you up."
I turned and sure enough, Cain was glaring our way. Kayla had said he was glaring at me, and at first, I thought that too, but on closer inspection, I realized he wasn't. His glare was aimed for Jeffrey.
I switched my gaze between the two and not soon after, Cain and I met gazes. For what seemed like ages, none of us looked away. I was curious wondering what was going in that head of his, but I stopped in my tracks when I noticed something in his eyes.
Worry.
I looked away from him, grabbing Kayla's arm and walking away from that searching gaze. Cain never worried for anyone but himself. So why had he continuously stared at me like he was worried about my wellbeing?
As the night drifted on, I could only wonder.
