Chapter Ten Stepping off the back porch of the inn, Lela noticed Nathan’s truck was gone. Great, he’s freaked out and bolted. So much for talking about what happened last night. Silence greeted her as she entered the bungalow. She felt sick. Walking like a zombie, she shuffled to her bedroom, unsurprised to find an unmade bed. Between his wanting to reconcile with his wife, and not using protection, of course he would freak out. This is all my fault, and now he’s gone. Sometime later, Lela dragged her body into the shower and tried not to think about what happened the last time she was in there. Not even bothering to dry her hair or put on makeup, she threw on some jeans and a comfortable sweatshirt and headed back to the inn to check out her guests that were leaving and reset the rooms
