CASSIA’S POV:
I had watched Marcus being dragged towards the palace. I had screamed and cried but nobody stopped dragging him — nobody stopped to hear what I had to say.
I was escorted back to the palace where I had to stay in my bedroom with guards stationed outside my doors.
I was left alone in my bedroom, to my thoughts and to my tears, images of Marcus being dragged out like a petty thief etched into my mind.
I hadn't seen Lucius since the occurrence and frankly, I was glad that I didn't lay my eyes on him.I hated him so much at this point. It was only fair he left me here alone to cry my eyes out.
There was no way I was going to stay in my room all day, as my worry burned through me like leaf to a fire. I needed to see Marcus, I needed to know that he was alright.
