My blood went cold.
I stared at Caleb with my mouth hanging open and my heart in my throat. Even Kade looked at me, his brows raised.
I looked around the room for a moment… huge mistake. I realized just how many of them were staring at me… waiting for me to answer. Even Professor Alden was curious, and I couldn’t stop the tears from forming in my eyes, even if I wanted to.
I couldn’t believe this was happening; I had been so careful to keep my mark from ever being seen. I don’t wear my hair up, and I thought nobody had noticed it… How could I have let this happen?
