Lana’s POV
For a moment, I couldn’t breathe.
Kade was so close to me, and his scent was intoxicating; it was musky and a bit woodsy… I could smell a hint of pine, and it made me want to get a little closer. He had me on his lap, his grin growing slightly wider as he looked into my eyes.
Then, his eyes dropped to my lips, and all the heat rushed to my cheeks at once.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into; he told me I needed to act like his girlfriend in public and in private, but I had no idea what that meant. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and something told me that Kade wasn’t going to make it easy.
Alruna was acting interested in the idea, but I wasn’t as sure as she was.
His eyes trailed up my face until they landed on my eyes again.
