I was still shaken after my run-in with Caleb earlier. He was ridiculous if he thought for a second that I would take him up on his offer… not after what he did. He broke something inside of me that I feared might never be repaired. Alruna whimpered at the thought; I felt bad mostly for her because she was losing her mate.
