Hannah was pregnant, there was no mistaking the swell of her belly.
Our baby I was sure of it, the size of her matched up completely. Which meant she had been running all these months with our son or daughter growing in her belly. How afraid she must have been, how desperate. The thought made me feel sick. And she had shown up at our engagement party. An engagement party to another woman when we had sworn our love to her. We had sworn we would love and protect her forever. She wasn’t to know that we were doing it all to protect her. To keep her safe.
