Rusticci took all his money. I admit it's a heavy blow to the pockets of all the shareholders who contributed their money to keep Bercelli afloat. Still, it was not possible to continue working with people like Ratja.
I know I may sound selfish, but no amount of money in the world is worth my peace away from a woman who only saw me as a fool and a stupid puppet.
"This is terrible, Belial," said Carter, showing me the data on the computer. "Rusticci may not be the wealthiest of our shareholders and investors, but his departure has caused the balance to tilt towards bankruptcy. My friend," he sighed heavily, "Bercelli has no way out of this. Not even the project that Ana is working on can save us; there is no more money for employee wages; only severance packages remain."
