10 Ellie tossed and turned, unable to sleep. The back of her head ached a bit, but she knew that wasn’t the real issue. She threw the covers aside and then padded to the window seat, grabbing a robe. She settled onto the cushion. Moonlight surrounded her in a soft comforting glow. Watching the leaves on the trees stirred by a light breeze, she thought, why isn’t Mom upset that I’ve invited a virtual stranger to live in my house? Ellie replayed the dinner conversation over again. Her mother had been completely at ease hearing Pad was taking up residence even offering to help make up the other guest room for him.
