I don’t know if it was the tablets or what, but not long into the telly programme—some boring crap about this composer called Delius, Will said he was from Yorkshire, but I’d never heard of him—Will fell asleep. I lowered the volume and just sat there, my arm round Will. It was brilliant just being next to him like that and holding him. His body was a lot different to a girl’s, he wasn’t soft like they were, but somehow to me it felt more comfortable and, well, right. As Will slept with his cheek on my shoulder, he started to dribble. I didn’t mind, in fact it was sort of cute. This was the second time I’d watched him sleep. It sort of gave me a warm tingly feeling inside that I was kind of watching over him, protecting him. I knew Will was no damsel in distress or anything like that. He
