Fury exploded within Xavier. He abruptly stood up, venting his rage on the phone, hurling it across the room.
Then, his gaze swept sharply over those present, gritting his teeth audibly as he issued his command word by word.
"Book me a flight to Sophiapolis. Now!"
Meanwhile, Zahara hurried to the Lewis family's villa as soon as she disembarked from her flight.
Upon her return, her eyes caught a familiar silhouette standing at the entrance to the Lewis family.
It wasn't her husband Yuri, but rather that unscrupulous mistress—Yasmine Smith.
Yasmine also noticed Zahara's arrival and greeted her softly, "Long time no see, Zahara."
Zahara's lips curled into a cold smile. She ignored Yasmine as if she were invisible and turned to enter the main door.
Unperturbed, Yasmine continued speaking almost to herself, "Zahara, I'm sorry about before. But love is beyond our control. Yuri and I are truly in love."
As she spoke, she raised her hand to gently caress her belly, her eyes gleaming with maternal pride. "Moreover, I'm now carrying Yuri's child. It's innocent. He shouldn't be labeled illegitimate from birth. So, I beg you, please show mercy and let us be a family of three!"
Zahara's anger flared, and she let out a derisive laugh, turning her head sharply to cast a blade-like gaze directly at Yasmine.
"You are sorry, yet you were the one who became the mistress, secretly screwing with Yuri," she retorted.
With a sneer, she continued, "Now you claim the child is innocent, yet you couldn't keep your desires in check, only caring about momentary pleasure. Your apologies are mere lip service. What you are actually doing is making shameless requests that hurt me even more. You're utterly brazen. Shame on you!"
Despite these cutting words, Yasmine maintained her facade of playing the victim, though her tone was sharp and harsh.
"Zahara, I understand your resentment, but love doesn't have a pecking order. In the end, the one who isn't loved is the real mistress."
Zahara's face was as cold as frost, her gaze sharp as a blade, firmly locked onto Yasmine. Each word she uttered carried undeniable weight and irrefutable power.
"Yes, love may not have a first-come, first-served basis, but there are still moral principles to uphold!"
Zahara gritted her teeth in anger, her words revealing deep regret. "If I had known what kind of person you were, I would never have saved you!"
Indeed, Zahara had once extended a helping hand to Yasmine, bestowing considerable favors upon her.
During high school, Zahara and Yuri had attended the same private elite school arranged by their families.
Yasmine, a scholarship student with excellent grades, was often bullied by her classmates due to her lack of powerful background.
One day, Zahara witnessed Yasmine being bullied and stepped forward without hesitation to rescue her from the school bullies.
Afterwards, she continued to protect Yasmine and introduced her to her own social circle.
Zahara even specifically instructed Yuri, already her fiancé, to look out for Yasmine in their daily lives.
Unfortunately, this care eventually evolved into betrayal, something Zahara had never expected.
Recalling the past, the anger that had slowly subsided in Zahara's heart now threatened to reignite.
She gently pushed open the low gate of the villa, entered, and closed it behind her before turning to face Yasmine with an icy gaze.
"Metaphorically speaking, a mistress is just a mistress, forever hiding in the shadows, unable to stand proudly in the sunlight. Just like now, I can rightfully enter the Lewis family, while you can only linger at this doorway, unable to take a step further."
These words cut through Yasmine's facade of calm, causing her anger to visibly boil over.
Clenching her teeth, her eyes revealing intense hostility, Yasmine suddenly collapsed to the ground, staring directly at Zahara.
Zahara couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, wondering what kind of theatrics Yasmine was putting on.
Before she could think it through, Yasmine put on an expression of unbearable agony, her hand cradling her swollen belly, looking at Zahara with pleading eyes.
"Zahara, I know I was wrong. After I safely give birth to the child, you can do whatever you want to me. Can you please take me to the hospital now?"
Zahara immediately understood Yasmine's intentions, but before she could react, Yuri rushed out from inside the house.
Yuri roughly shoved Zahara aside, yanked open the door, and rushed out, crouching down to tightly embrace Yasmine.
Then, Yuri glared at Zahara with blazing eyes, shouting, "Zahara, how dare you lay hands on Yasmine?! Are you tired of being Mrs. Lewis? If anything happens to Yasmine and the baby, you can get out of the Lewis family and never come back!"
