There was a girl named Maevyn Amihan. She was a not so beautiful girl, quiet, shy, and a girl who loved to play outdoor games. She knew how to ride a motorcycle when she was a grade 4 student. She is a girl who doesn't have many friends because she is an introverted girl. She was spoiled by her grandmother, but she is not a spoiled brat girl. Also, she has been a consistent honor student from elementary to senior high school. She has fair skin like porcelain, but as far as she knows, she is not beautiful. She is a humble and down-to-earth person. Maevyn had fair, porcelain-like skin, a feature that often caught people’s eyes when they did notice her. But despite this, Maevyn never considered herself beautiful. She never felt the need to conform to beauty standards, as she preferred to remain unnoticed. Her grandmother, however, often reminded her that beauty was more than skin deep, encouraging her to embrace her unique qualities. In fact, Maevyn's beauty lay in her gentle spirit, her humility, and her thoughtful nature—traits that endeared her to the few people who took the time to get to know her. Despite her accomplishments, Maevyn faced challenges. Her introverted nature made it difficult for her to form lasting friendships. She was always the quiet girl in class, and while she didn’t mind it, there were times when loneliness crept in. She wondered why it seemed so easy for others to make friends, while she struggled with small talk or fitting in. But over time, Maevyn began to understand that being introverted didn’t mean being alone. It meant that she needed more time to build deep, meaningful connections. Slowly, a few of her classmates began to see her for who she truly was: a kind, thoughtful, and deeply loyal person. Vic Thorne’s arrival at Maevyn’s school marked the start of a new chapter for both of them, although neither knew just how intertwined their fates would become. Vic’s family had moved to their town from Tacloban after the catastrophic Typhoon Haiyan, also known as Typhoon Yolanda. The super typhoon had hit their city with unimaginable force, causing widespread devastation. Buildings were destroyed, and countless lives were lost. The storm surge, a deadly wave triggered by the ferocious winds, claimed the lives of many who were unaware of its danger. Most people in Tacloban had never experienced a storm surge before, so many were unprepared and too complacent. The resulting chaos and loss were heart-wrenching. Vic and his family were among the survivors, but the loss they experienced left deep emotional scars. After everything they had endured, they sought refuge and a fresh start in a quieter town, enrolling Vic in Maevyn’s school. It was here, in this new environment, that Maevyn first noticed him. Maevyn had always been quiet and reserved, but Vic's presence seemed to stir something inside her. He was so different and unique from the other boys in her school. He had a poker face—unreadable, calm, and often detached—but there was a mischief in his eyes, a quiet naughtiness that she couldn't ignore. Despite his quiet nature, Vic wasn’t shy about pushing boundaries, playing pranks on classmates, and keeping everyone on their toes. It was almost as though he carried the weight of his past with him, but didn’t let it show. While Maevyn couldn’t deny that she found Vic intriguing, she also recognized that they lived in separate worlds. Her reserved personality made it hard to approach him, and Vic, despite his playful nature, remained distant, keeping his emotions locked away. Their relationship was like a parallel line—close but never quite meeting. Still, Maevyn couldn’t help but develop feelings for him. She admired his quiet strength, his resilience after everything he had been through, and the way he never seemed to complain. To her, Vic was a mystery—someone who had experienced so much pain yet still managed to smile, albeit with that ever-present poker face. Vic, on the other hand, didn’t know how to handle his emotions. The aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan had left him shaken, and though he’d never openly talked about it, the trauma of losing so much had followed him to this new place. He wasn’t used to being the center of attention, and he didn’t want anyone to feel sorry for him. His constant poker face was his defense against the world—a shield that prevented others from seeing his vulnerabilities. He knew Maevyn was different, though. There was something about her quiet demeanor that made him feel safe, like he could be himself without being judged. He noticed her kindness, her gentle nature, and the way she never sought attention. But just like Maevyn, he kept his distance. Life had taught him that nothing ever stayed the same for long. He had already lost too much to take risks on someone else. Maevyn Amihan and Vic Thorne’s story was one of those love stories that never quite came together, like two lines that draw closer and closer but never touch. They were once in love with each other, but it seems that destiny was against them. Their love story is an example that sometimes happenings can happen for a reason. Love may be intended just to feel for that person, but you need to keep it and admire him from afar. This love story may be a sad story, but there was a happy ending to his love story for another girl who deserves his love and loyalty. Maybe it was a great idea to give him a good treat because he is a good person. "I love him for who he was. I loved him for many years and that love never fades, he is my love my greatest and first love", Maevyn said. "Loving him was a good feeling. I've felt I know he is happy up there. I hope you forgive me for what I did to you''. Those were the heartfelt words that Maevyn wanted to say to Vic.
