Lately, I had found myself waking up in a different girl’s room almost every night. I couldn’t explain what was happening to me, but I had been feeling a physical hunger I couldn’t seem to sate. No matter the girl I was with or how many times they tried to please me, I was always left unsatisfied. I was starting to get restless, being haunted in my dreams by a girl I barely knew.
At first Roxy hadn’t been happy when I sought out other girls, but eventually she had been worn out and agreed it better she got a break now and then.
This was crazy! What was happening to me? At all hours of the day a fire would begin in me. Was this some kind of second puberty? Hopefully, it was just a phase.
I was sitting at the breakfast table, munching down on a make-shift sandwich with bacon and eggs, when Roxy walked in with her two new followers; Sascha and Mira.
Mira was the she-wolf who had been ogling me when she first came to the mansion and then proceeded to pretend as if she wasn’t interested in me, even though I had caught her looking at me on multiple occasions when she thought I wouldn’t notice.
At first, I assumed she was just shy, but every time I had tried to approach her, she excused herself and left.
This was also something new for me; a girl who didn’t reciprocate my advances, which was strangely arousing. I knew she felt an attraction to me, and who was I to blame her? And her actions made this feel like a hunt, which made the whole thing much more exciting, and I was having fun stalking my prey.
The girls sat down at the table; Roxy slid down next to me, Sascha and Mira on the opposite side. I tried to catch Mira’s eyes, but she seemed determined to keep avoiding my gaze. I smothered a smirk as I took another bite of my breakfast.
“Do you guys want to hang out after we’re done eating?” Roxy asked around a mouthful of a croissant.
“I’m sorry, I have cooking class” I heard Sascha answer, but I kept chewing until I heard what Mira had to say.
“I’m afraid I have class too” Mira added hastily.
“Then we better get going” Sascha said and got up, quickly followed by Mira.
Once they were out the door, a few other wolves joined us at the table, and I seized the opportunity to get up and excuse myself with business of my own.
I reached the entrance hall just in time to see Sascha walk out the front door, but Mira wasn’t with her. I looked to the stairs, seeing Mira more than halfway up. I took the stairs two steps at a time to catch up to her, and once I reached the top of the stairs, I saw her heading for her room. I leaned against the wall and called out to her “Weren’t you going to class?”
She whirled around and looked at me, although quick to avert her eyes again. “I – I was going to get some materials for class” she stammered. Obviously, a lie. No class gave homework or required you to bring your own materials of any kind.
“Which class requires materials from your room?” I asked with thinly concealed mockery.
I saw her cheeks redden as she struggled to come up with an answer. After a few minutes she seemed to give up her ill attempt, and a laugh escaped me as I pushed away from the wall. I walked towards her, and she backed up until she bumped into the wall behind her.
I stopped when my body was inches from hers, leaning down towards her.
I had never been this close to her before, and the strawberry smell that always seemed to make my mouth water was radiating off of her. It was sweet and seductive. She had her head turned away from me, leaving her neck exposed. I felt my canines sharpen and I wondered how she would react if I were bite her; this was a very intimate thing to do between werewolves and was only done between lovemates. My lips brushed against her skin and she pulled away, but not enough to escape my grasp.
“W-W-What do y-you want?” I heard her whisper.
I let my tongue run up her neck, along her jawline, until I heard her let out a small gasp.
“I want you to look at me!” I said, a little more harshly than I had intended. My words surprised me. This wasn’t what I had wanted to say, but the words just slipped out. I had no idea how much I actually wanted her to look at me before I said the words aloud.
I stood firm and looked at her eyes that very reluctantly looked over my face, until finally they found my own. I felt the air being sucked out of my lungs, like someone had just punched me in the gut.
Her eyes pierced through me, leaving me feeling exposed and vulnerable, but it wasn’t an unpleasant feeling. My mind was completely blank and a total mess at the same time.
I felt myself being drawn towards her, surrendering myself to her will. Time stood still around us, and I couldn’t breathe. Nothing else mattered but her, no one else was important. My whole world revolved around her. And I just knew. It was her; she was my mate.
Her lips parted in surprise; obviously, she’d felt the same happen to her. I couldn’t – wouldn’t - hold myself back and leaned down to push my lips against hers. This time she didn’t pull away. She took in a deep breath, and I slid my tongue in her mouth. The taste of her sent a shiver down my spine and my claws popped out. She tasted unlike anything I had ever tasted before. I imagined not even the Goddess herself tasted this heavenly.
A growl rumbled in my chest and I moved closer to her, pushing her against the wall. I don’t know how long we were standing there in the middle of the hallway, and I didn’t care. In the back of my mind I registered someone approach, but I paid them no attention. All I could focus on was Mira.
Mira placed her hands on my chest and clenched her fist in my shirt, right before she pushed me away with an incredible force. I took a few steps back, astonished.
She used my brief moment of hesitation to run into her room and close the door behind her. I quickly followed, grabbing the handle, but it was locked. I clawed gently on the door for her to let me enter, but she didn’t. I stood there for a couple of minutes before turning away, heading for my own room and reached the door just as someone stepped into the hall.
