Father's Disapproval

Chapter 5:

Sophia and Ryder decide to tell James about their relationship, hoping that he will understand and accept their love for each other. They sit him down in the living room, trying to appear calm and confident.

"Father, we need to talk to you about something," Sophia says, her voice steady.

James looks at them expectantly, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What is it?"

Sophia takes a deep breath. "Ryder and I are dating," she says, her words coming out in a rush. "We've been seeing each other for a few weeks now, and we're really happy together."

James's face darkens, his expression disapproving. "You're dating a bodyguard?" he repeats, his voice dripping with disdain. "Sophia, you're a billionaire heiress! You deserve someone with wealth and status, not some ordinary guy who's only good for protection!"

Sophia feels a surge of anger and hurt at her father's words. She knows that he's never going to accept Ryder, no matter how much she loves him.

"Father, that's not fair!" Sophia protests. "Ryder is a good man, and he makes me happy. That's all that should matter!"

But James is unmoved. "I forbid you from seeing him again," he says coldly. "You're going to marry someone worthy of our family's name, not some bodyguard who's only looking for a payday."

Sophia feels her heart break at her father's words. She knows that she's going to have to choose between her family and the man she loves. She looks at Ryder, seeing the hurt and frustration in his eyes.

"We'll talk about this later, Father," Sophia says, her voice firm. "But for now, know that I'm not going to give up on Ryder. He's the one I want to be with."

James's face turns red with anger, but Sophia stands her ground. She knows that she's making the right decision, even if it means going against her father's wishes.

As they leave the living room, Sophia feels a sense of determination wash over her. She's going to fight for her relationship with Ryder, no matter what it takes.

Will Sophia and Ryder's love be strong enough to overcome James's disapproval, or will they be forced apart by his stubborness ?
