Chapter 4:
Sophia and Ryder's relationship continues to blossom, but they know they have to keep it a secret from her father. James would never approve of his daughter dating a bodyguard, and Sophia knows he would do everything in his power to keep them apart.
As they spend more time together, Sophia and Ryder realize that their feelings for each other are stronger than they ever could have imagined. They share stolen moments whenever they can, sneaking around the city to be together. Sophia feels alive with Ryder, like she's finally found a piece of herself that she never knew was missing.
But the secrecy takes a toll on their relationship. Sophia feels guilty for lying to her father, and Ryder feels like he's not good enough for her. They know they have to tell James the truth eventually, but they're afraid of the consequences.
One night, as they're walking through the city, Ryder turns to Sophia and tells her that he can't keep hiding their relationship anymore. He wants to be with her, openly and honestly. Sophia knows that this could be the end of their relationship, but she also knows that she can't keep living a lie.
"I want to be with you, Sophia," Ryder says, his eyes locked on hers. "I want to be able to hold your hand in public, to take you out on dates, to be your boyfriend. I can't keep hiding our relationship anymore."
Sophia's heart races as she looks at Ryder. She knows that this is what she wants too, but she's afraid of her father's reaction.
"Let's do it," Sophia says finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "Let's tell my father the truth."
Will James accept Sophia and Ryder's relationship, or will he do everything in his power to keep them apart?
