Chapter 9:
Sophia and Ryder's relationship is stronger than ever, despite James's initial disapproval. They're happy and in love, and they think that nothing can come between them.
But one day, Ryder receives a mysterious message that threatens to tear them apart. The message is from an unknown sender, and it claims that Ryder is hiding a dark secret from his past.
Sophia is skeptical at first, but as she digs deeper, she starts to uncover some disturbing truths about Ryder's past. She learns that he was involved in some shady dealings before he became a bodyguard, and she starts to wonder if she ever really knew him at all.
Ryder tries to explain, but Sophia is too hurt and angry to listen. She feels betrayed and lied to, and she doesn't know if she can ever trust Ryder again.
"I need some time to think," Sophia says, her voice cold. "I don't know if I can ever trust you again."
Ryder's face falls, and he looks at her with sad eyes. "Sophia, please," he says. "Just listen to me. I'll explain everything."
But Sophia is too hurt to listen. She turns and walks away, leaving Ryder alone and heartbroken.
