Chapter 18 Paula had barely made it through her shift the night before. She was exhausted and slept all day, so she hadn’t spoken to Allison. Tonight, was just as bad, and it was nearly midnight before she had a chance to chart. It’s like a repeat of last night. Jesus. These three-patient assignments were hell and definitely unsafe. There was no way you could get all your work done. You just had to prioritize and do what was necessary and skip the rest. Paula longed for the days when she could slack off and read a book at work. When her patients were finally stable, she opened her computer to begin her assessments.
