Chapter 39 Bobbi drove home in a daze, arriving at her house as if her car had been on autopilot. It was twelve thirty in the afternoon on a weekday, and she couldn’t remember the last time she was at home in the middle of the day. It felt weird. Most people would be glad to be away from work, to have some free time. Bobbi possessed this tremendous sense of guilt and failure. The only reason she was home was because she was forced to resign. Who was she kidding? She’d been fired and the feeling was far from pleasant. She was used to ruling the roost, and now she was down in the dirt and alone. She didn’t even feel like drinking.
