Earlier that day, Hayden had gone outside to bring Brita a glass of water. She was chopping wood and didn’t notice him come out, so he stood there with the sweating glass, waiting for her to look up. Brita was really strong. Like, she had biceps that visibly flexed as she brought down the axe. She was barely breaking a sweat in the scorching light. It made Hayden glad she had decided to come out here with them. This environment fit her better. As Brita came to the end of the stack of juniper logs, she straightened and wiped her brow.
