I was approaching the duo the moment I saw Brenda raise her hand at my wife, but Cassie defended herself already before I got there.
The resounding slap on Brenda instantly made tears well up in her eyes, but by the time she could react, I was already between the duo. I didn’t miss the burning look in Cassie’s eyes.
“How dare you?!!!!” Brenda screeched with her hand against her cheek.
“You didn’t think twice before you raised your hand at her, but she defended herself, and you are mad. Really?” I attacked Brenda.
A tear rolled down her cheek. I had no idea if it was my words that triggered it or if her cheek still hurt from the slap. “She hit the mother of your child, and that is what you had to say?”
