I don’t remember how I ended up in the dark room, bound and gagged, my head pounding. I tried to trace my steps in my head, but the fear of the unknown consumed me as I struggled with the ties around my hands and feet. My head throbbed as I moved about, the tears spilling from my eyes and soaking into the rag tied around my mouth. The smell of sulphur lingered in the air like smoke from a fire just burned out.
