Roman Waiting for Lucille's arrival to my bedchamber was misery. Since Lord Martin left my suite, with each tick of the clock, I'd been positively itching to enter the secret room. I'd even approached the bookcase multiple times. The only thing that stopped me was remembering Lucille's request. I asked her to only open the room with me present, and she'd asked for the same. Opening the secret door would be a minor offense but an offense all the same. I wouldn't become Noah because I had the princess on my side. Despite how it looked to the world, our relationship was too new for me to betray her in any way, even simply opening the secret room. Avoiding the temptation, I paced back and forth in my private parlor, praying for the door to open and her to enter. Finally, it happened.
