The shop was almost empty, which gave me the chance to make two cups of coffee and sit by the window with Sylvie. As soon as we settled in, I heard Sylvie's words. "Zoey, I really hate you." This might as well not have been said. I struggled to keep a smile on my face as I handed the coffee to Sylvie. "Did I offend you somehow?" Sylvie had matured significantly over the years. Back when I was supporting Zephyr, he often sold the gifts I gave him to help Sylvie. I noticed but didn't say much. Later, Sylvie was accepted into a reputable university.
