Seated at the little study desk in the bedroom that had been her mother’s, Junie tapped the print button on her laptop computer. While her work printed, she stretched. She had worked hard on this presentation, in part to keep her mind off Knox. Since he had visited last week to introduce his family, he’d gone silent on her. She had seen him only in passing at the hotel. No calls, no texts, no knocks on the door. Every time she caught a glimpse of him at work, it hurt. However, if she’d acted on her feelings, it could have been much worse. Sadly, she had been wrong about him, yet she learned she still had the capacity to love.
