Leaving The Country. Samara woke up to the ringing of her phone. She squinted her eyes and groaned out, her head banging. she tried to sit up and reach for her phone but couldn't. She frowned and looked down to see firm large arms circling her waist and holding her tightly. Her eyes widened, almost bulging out of their socket in shock and pure horror. She smacked her hand over her mouth suppressing a scream. She looked around the room and realization dawned on her at the sight of clothes and underwear littered on the floor. "Oh God! What have I done?" She mentally facepalmed herself. Turning back to the stranger, Samara blushed hard remembering last night. All through her five years of marriage to Noah, she had not known such pleasure existed, talk more about experiencing it. She touched his face fondly. He was still masked and she couldn't really make out his features but she knew he was handsome from the little she could see. " I don't regret this. That was the best night of my life." She thought smiling. She bit her lip and blushed harder as the detailed memories flooded her mind. She couldn't believe a man would do that… and for her a stranger? It was as unbelievable as it was true. She decided against removing his mask to see his face or waking him up. It was a one-night stand and would remain so. She needn't complicate things by waking him up or seeing him. Sliding out of the bed carefully, Samara quickly dressed up. She took her phone and purse and started heading out but stopped and walked back to the side table where his wristwatch, his wallet, his car keys, and other things were kept. An indigo card with an intricate design caught her attention and she picked it up instantly before rushing out and closing the door gently. Thirty minutes later, Samara stepped out of the cab and walked into the gate of her uncle's house but paused in her tracks in bewilderment. Samara knew her mother-in-law would take no time to send her things back to her uncle's house and so she hadn't bothered to go back for them. What she didn't understand, however, was why her things were still scattered outside the house. " Godfrey! Godfrey!" Samara called the gatekeeper. The man ran to her but before she could inquire of him why her things were still outside, her uncle came out of the house. His eyes held no warmth as he asked, "What are you doing here, Samara?" " You really think I will take you in? What gave you the guts to file for a divorce? Why would you make such a stupid move?" Samara opened her mouth and closed it back, speechless. "Answer me!" He shouted and Samara flinched. Tears welled in her eyes " Uncle, Noah cheated on me. He impregnated his secretary" She retorted. Angry tears flowed down her cheeks. " And what were you expecting when you couldn't give him a child for five years, huh?" He scorned Samara bowed her head and said nothing. " You shouldn't be here, Samara. You can't stay here. Go back to your husband and plead with him. I'm sure Noah will take you back. The contract depends on your marriage and you know it. Noah has already threatened to terminate it should I take you in. Now, go on child. And Don't be ungrateful!" He spoke calmly, cajoling her. The statement was supposed to remind her of how he cared for her after she lost her parents. He always did that. He gave her a squared look. " The driver can take you back. You have to leave right now. Turning around, he went inside and locked the door. Samara wiped her tears and swore not to cry anymore. Declining the help of the driver, She took her bags and boarded a cab. While in the cab, she called her best friend, Susanne. After explaining everything that had happened to her, Su insisted that she leave the country immediately because Noah could be dangerous. Samara couldn't agree more. If Noah ever finds out about her one-night stand, she would be in more trouble than she's already in. And she has to be fast before Noah finds her. With the help of her friend, she boarded a flight to Korea discreetly leaving no traces behind. ???????? ( Seoul, Korea.) Two months later. Samara sat with Susanne in the living room staring at the test result on the table silently. Her eyes were fixated on the part that read "Positive". She couldn't believe it. She was two months pregnant. She was finally pregnant. She wanted to scream out, but instead, tears of joy welled up in her eyes. Susanne who had been quiet suddenly stood up from the couch and screamed dramatically. "I'm gonna be a godmother! I'm gonna be a godmother!" She sang dancing around the room. Samara smiled through her tears and grinned at her. " Yes baby, you're gonna be a godmother" She rubbed her flat tummy in awe. She had been throwing up and feeling weak every morning for weeks. At first, they thought it was just a fever. Susanne had been worried about her and when she wasn't getting any better, she took her to the hospital where she was tested and confirmed pregnant by the doctor. She still couldn't really believe it. she kinda wished it had happened earlier when she was still with Noah. Maybe then, Noah would love and respect her and Agatha would've been… Samara shook her head. No! Nothing would've changed. Agatha had always hated her and Noah only thought of her as a thing— just another one of his possessions. " Oh, Sam darling! I'm so happy for you." Susanne said interrupting her thoughts " This is the best news ever. We're gonna have a baby" She grinned and hugged her tightly. Samara laughed matching her excitement, "You're saying what a father would say." Susanne laughed with her and plopped down on the seat next to her. " Well, I'm the godmother but I could also be the father, what do you think?." She asked jokingly. Father! Samara frowned. She didn't know who the father was. Noah had stopped being intimate with her six months before the divorce. It was the stranger! Oh God! "Shhh, calm down Sam," Susanne said as though reading her thoughts. Susanne knew everything. Taking her hands in hers, she rubbed softly. " Look at the brighter side dear. No one's going to take your child away from you. He doesn't know you and you don't know him either. I promise you that Noah won't know about this. He won't hurt you or your baby" She smiled at her. " I'm going to take care of you both, Sam. I promise." Samara hugged her and wept. "Hush now honey, everything will be okay," Susanne whispered affectionately, stroking her hair. Yes, everything will be okay. She wouldn't think about it or worry anymore. She wanted this child and she would keep it against all odds.
