Moon cannot stop me from investigating this case. I settled and take care of my belongings then put them in the drawer.
I ate lunch here in the room that they gave me.
When someone comes in, Moon and the cat change their size and hide in my hair.
It’s already dinner time, soon Niko will come here to get me.
“Moon, change your size already. They will be here soon.”
“I’ll change if they are in front of the door.”
What a stubborn kid.
There’s a knock on the door and the kid stumbles as he gets up. That’s why I told him to change already so that he will not have to move quickly.
“Is there something wrong, West?” said the other said of the door.
“Wait, don’t come in yet I have to change first.”
“Faster, Miss Luna is waiting.”
Moon, change her size along with the Cat and hide inside of my hair.
It tickles every time Moon walks around my head, it feels like I have lice in my head.
“You can come in now.”
Niko entered the room.
Her eyes widen as she sees me, “Wow! You’re so beautiful.”
“No, she’s not.” I heard Moon say through Uke. We are using Uke to talk to each other.
“Thank you for the compliment.” I change my clothes a while ago and change into something else.
I wore a thin piece layer of cloth that extended in the tip of my foot, it has the color of the blue sky that matches the color of my hair right now.
“Let’s go! Miss Luna doesn’t like to wait.”
I let her lead the way and I followed.
We arrived in a room where people, all of them are women, seated in columns.
They look at me in shock and bitterment. At the center, there is this woman and she has this fierce look with red eyeliner in her upper eyelids.
She sits like a gangsta.
Niko was already seated and told me to come and sit with her. I was about to go to her when the woman said, “Wait, come sit beside me.”
She taps the pillow beside her. I look at Niko and told me to go and sit with the woman.
As the obedient person I am, I followed.
I sit beside her then a woman serves me food.
Of all the people here, she’s the only one who is standing.
Everyone's eyes are still on me. Is there something wrong with my face or this is how they greeted the new ones?
I think Niko felt it too cause she’s been biting her fingers.
The woman started eating then everyone followed. I saw Niko is eating too so I start too.
Everyone was so silent and we ended in crickets.
The woman takes a sip in her drink and others are busy with their own business.
While me, just sitting here awkwardly. Why did I accept the job in the first place? Oh right…to get a free room and free food.
The woman put down her drink and made a thud sound to get everyone's attention.
Finally, the awkward silence is gone.
“It’s been long since we have dinner together.”
Oh… that’s why everyone was so awkward, they are not that close.
“I’m glad that you were able to make time for this dinner.”
Everyone was inventively listening to her.
“We are honored to have dinner with you, Madam Luna. We will not grow bored of your presence.” The girl with a black her said.
“You always said things that made me happy, Avelina.”
Hmm…her name is Avelina, I’ll try to remember it. I’ve been careful in remembering names since I know about my condition. I still don’t know why would Ester have this kind of condition if she were this amazing. This must be what they are saying, even though you are amazing, you still have flaws.
“I’m glad that it made you happy.” Black hair–I mean Avalon has a smile on her face.
The woma–Miss Luna, gazes at me. Her stare made me freeze for a moment. It was like hypnotizing me.
If she didn’t turn her eyes away from me, I might faint from being mesmerized.
“As all of you know we have a newcomer, meet Theo.”
A girl in front stands up and she was looking down at the floor
“She is from a noble family of Astras but just a week ago it has fallen because of the royal family. The Astras Family sold their daughter so that they can make money for their living instead of working they chose the latter. How selfish.”
Everyone claps their hand. Why are they clapping? The girl has been sold by her family.
Miss Luna gestured her to sit down.
“Next, I didn’t expect that we will be added by another one. Everyone meet, West.” Just like the noble girl did, I got up and bow to greet them.
Their eyes pinned on me.
“She’s an adventurer but I hired her to become a flower. She’ll start working tomorrow.”
“Madam Luna, I have a question.” Avalon raised her right arm.
“What is it, Avelina?”
I almost choke to hear her name, it was Avelina. Where did I get the word Avalon?
“May I know where she came from?” Avelina look at me like I were a suspicious person.
“Where did you come from?” Miss Luna asked me back.
“I am an adventurer so I don’t have a permanent address.”
Miss Luna nodded.
“You heard her.”
“Madam Luna, we can’t just take in a person with no background.”
The calm and relaxed Miss Luna is now enraged and fiercely looks at Avelina for questioning her decisions.
“Did you forget that all of us here are no different from her? We also fake our background for everyone to accept us, just because you are now a flower and more above than others, remember you were once a nobody. You came here with dirt all around you but at least her, she came here with a title.”
Avelina was embarrassed, she sat down again with her head down and apologize to Miss Luna.
“Does anyone still have something to say?”
