Who Is Ester Winch?

Chapter 32

One month has passed.

The day has come, we finished building the houses and we are abundant in agriculture also, the water are distributed to every houses.

Tonight, we are going to celebrate for our mission accomplished!

Everyone is busy designing and cleaning their home. You can see in their faces the excitement to have a new home.

“Ester, We need new clothes!”

Did I forget to mention that I am their supplier of clothes? Well, now you know.

The Phix, Goblin, and Garm don't know how to do laundry while the Fairies can use magic to clean themselves.

I've been providing them with some clothes since day one. After, this party I will teach them how to do laundry.

“Hoy, help me with this.” Said Pink fairy.

She is cooking food for the celebration tonight. To be honest, she's a great cook. She knows a lot of cuisine and her only ingredients are the fruits that we get from the forest and on the farm.

The elders told me that long ago there are still animals roaming around the forest but due to, most of the monsters that live here are carnivore and low population of animals, they are extinct.

They survived by fighting and eating other monsters. Even though, fairies only eat fruits they sometimes get caught in the fight.

That's the start of a complex between the monsters.

But, they can't blame Ester since the barrier she put there is just trying to protect them from demons.

“What can I help?”

“Knead the dough.” Thanks to the farm that we can able to make starch and flour for the bread. Using the Fairies magic, it only takes 2 days for the crops to grow and we are able to store foods in the storage.

The carnivore such as the phix, goblin, and garm can eat what we make since I've given them the sense of taste of a human.

“We are done.” Pink takes out the bread from the oven. The oven is made out of bricks, we didn't make this, it was here since long ago and we decide to use it now.

“Ester, can you help us display the tables?” Ax Goblin said, this goblin is the head of the construction site, he is the one who gave me the ax before.

“Okay. Pink, I'll help out with the others.”

“Go.”

I help carry the tables.

“Heave-ho, Heave-ho.”

“Should I put it here?” I asked.

“Yes.”

I noticed that there's an open area in the center.

“Should we do a campfire?” it'll be dark at night since the electricity is only at the mansion.

We are still finding out how we going to give electricity to every house.

“Yah, we should do that.” He put his hand in his waist and stretch. He must be tired since he’s been working since day one.

“Then, I'll leave it to you.”

But, I'm a cruel person.

“You can count on me.”

It’s almost night.

We’re going to start soon.

The fire flickers as it’s blazing under the moonlight.

Everyone is happily dancing around the fire.

Some are enjoying drinking their booze. We got this booze from the storage.

“Bwahaha! Drunk already!” Pink was laughing at Ax Goblin who is now swinging his hand asking for one more.

“Ester, have some.” Fairy offered me some foods.

“Child, eat these too! Shoo, Evangeline.” The lady, giving me a plate of foods.

There is tension between them.

“T-thank you, this is a lot.”

Everyone was whistling and cheering especially the Sons Garm when they see Sir Alpha and Mama Garm slow dancing around the fire.

“Ester, Come! Let's dance too.” Drunk Pink, grabbed my hand and force me to dance.

Should I do Octopus dance? Chirp? Twerk? Wings?

“Umm…Ester, I think you should sit down.”

“Huh? I'm not done dancing yet. Octopus dance.”

Her face is pissed off, “Go sit down, you're embarrassing me!”

“huh?? You're forcing me to dance! And now, you're making me sit down.”

“Cause I didn't you were this bad at dancing!”

I’m a good dancer! I’m offended.

“Pink, Look around you and look at how they dance.”

The sons garm are dancing in fours, the phix is hopping, the fairies are dancing ballet and goblins are not the type to dance.

I just wanted to dance funny.

“That's enough. Ester, it's time for your speech since you are the main person of the party.” The fairy.

I wasn't informed about this, why do I have to give a speech??

I didn't prepare any script.

They let me stand at the table. Such bad manners.

Everyone is looking at me and patiently waiting for what I am about to say.

I formed sentences in my mind so that I'll not going to make a mistake if I'm going to say the words, “Tonight, we celebrate the most important thing that will be known in history….”

Did I exaggerate? Is history a little too much?

“With you, we were able to take a first step in building our home. We were able to build connections and learn from one another. In the future, we might face a lot of problems but we know that it will not affect us because we already trusted and fight for each other.”

Did I talk too much? Am I overreacting?

What's next? How should I end this?

I saw the glass on the table with booze in it, I grab it and raised it.

“With this glass and together we drank, will be the sign of our unity.” They also raised their cups and glasses and drank the booze in it.

They clapped their hands.

“Do you decide a name?” asked Elder Goblin.

“A name?”

“The name of our new home.” Elder Phix.

Don't tell me that I'll be the one to decide the name?

“The name should be related to you since you are the leader.” Fairy.

When did I become the leader?

“Ester is the first leader should we use the word ‘First’.” Sir Alpha said.

“First…too common? What about ‘Primus’ it has the same meaning?” The lady.

“I like that. Primus.” Sir Alpha.

I thought, I am the leader then why these two the ones who making the names?

“I want to join too, what about ‘Primus Compact’?” the Fairy joined the two.

“Hohoho…Primus Compact. It tingles in my ears.” Elder Goblin.

“I agree. Ester, what do you think?” Elder Phix.

The pressure is now on me.

Since they already like it then I have no choice besides I like the name too.

“It is decided, we are now the ‘Primus Compact’”

Everyone cheered.

“Viva the Primus Compact!” The Fairy raised her glass and shouted in high spirit.

“VIVA!” they shouted together.

“Hahaha….This is all new to me.” For me this is awkward, I’m not used to surrounded by this many.

“You should get used to it because in the future there will be more to come.” The lady said as she hold both of my shoulders.”

Everyone went back to dancing and drinking their booze.

As time passed, everyone was tired. Some sleep on the ground and some transform to their original form and make each other as futons.

Sometimes I wonder if I were not a human because I don’t easily feel sleepy and have a high endurance.

As I think through how a monster I am, someone called me.

“Ester!” I saw Moon running towards me as he gets near, he was catching his breath.

I know why he is here.

He finally did it.

“Where are they?”

He still catching his breath.

“T-they escaped.”

“W-what?? Why would they escap–Moon!” Moon fainted and fell to the ground. It’s because he is exhausted from not sleeping for a month and he ran from the mansion to here.

He reached his limit. He did a great job enduring it until now.

You can rest now, I will take care of the rest.

I’ll take care of Moon first before looking for Rem and Rom, I’m sure they are fine.

Moon POV.

Ester and everyone is having a party and I’m not even there to join because I’m treating Rem and Rom.

Ugh…I’m anxious! I want to join the party too.

I hope that they are still partying when I’m done so I can still join them.

Why does it have to happen today?

Just a little more and I’m almost done.

After this, I have to take a bath and change my clothes because I haven’t showered for a month. I must be smelly right now. I can use clean magic but I don’t think I can use it after this since I’m too tired.

The treatment is done. They will wake up soon.

My body is numbing since I’ve been in that position for a long. I pulled out the sword in my stomach and the wound starts to heal itself.

The water ball where Rem and Rom are in crumbles means that they are already awake.

His wet hair covered his face and it’s long since he hasn’t trimmed it for two months.

If I don’t know he is a boy, I would mistake him for a girl.

He tried to stand slowly, his muscle hasn’t moved for 2 months so it must be hurt to move it.

“You’re awake.”

“Who are you?” he asked.

Oh, right. This is the first time we met.

“I’m Moonshadow.” I introduced myself. “Ester asked me to heal you.”

“The Witch? Where is she?”

“She’s out partying. Why aren’t you calling her name?” That’s odd, I thought he serve Ester then why does he call Ester a witch.

“I… I’m used to calling her a witch.”

My eyes twitch.

“Say her name.” I challenge him.

He fell silent.

“HAHAHAHA! I’m just kidding.” I let him know that it was a joke but I’m still suspicious of him that he can’t say Ester’s name.

I understand Lorelie why she can’t say Ester’s name but him? I don’t know his reason. I should keep my eye on him.

“Did you have a massive s**t for the floor to look like that?”

This kid is disrespectful, I may look like a child but I’m older than him!

“This is my blood that dried! I got this because of healing you for one month!”

“When you are healing something, you are on your period. Make sense.” He arrogantly smirked at me.

Is he joking at me?

“What did you say?” his expression suddenly change, he was confused about something.

“Hmph! I didn’t say anything!”

He grabbed my collar.

“Did you say that I am asleep for one month?” his lip tightens and eyes full of anger.

The audacity of this kid to grab my collar. No one must treat me like this like I’m a low-life.

“I grabbed his hand and twisted it.

He whimpered from the pain then I pushed him away.

I fix my collar.

“You’ve slept for two months.” I stand up.

“Two months…we’re asleep for two months, Rem.” Oh… I heard about this. Rem is his sister that is inside of him.

“He’s going to get angry.” He still talks to Rem.

He was blank for a second.

He looks crazy staring at space.

“Let’s go home.” He said then ran and jumped at the window.

I didn’t have a chance to react since it happened suddenly and I don’t know where they are going.

I have to inform Ester first.

I looked at Ester and she was with everyone.

I was catching my breathing when looking for her.

When I saw her immediately I called her, “Ester!”

I saw her smile and I know why, it is not for me but for Rem and Rom.

“Where are they?” She asked while with a wide smile.

I hate to tell her because she’s going to get sad again.

“T-They escaped!” her brows arc.

“W-what?? Why would they escap–Moon!”

I didn’t notice that I’m already lying in the ground. I fainted without noticing.

She’s sad again. I don’t want her to get sad… Not again and when that happens she may do it again…cursing herself.

Ester POV.

A day passed, everyone are awake and started to take care of things.

I’m at Moon’s room. He is resting at the bed and hasn’t been awake since yesterday.

The Lady and Calcifer entered the room at the same time.

“Goodmorning!” The lady greeted.

“Lady, great timing. Can you take care of Moon? I’m going to find Rem and Rom.” Moon’s condition is stable so I don’t have to worry anything but there’s still some need to watch him.

“Of course, I can do that.” The Lady said.

Nice! Then, I can now go find Rem and Rom. I need to know how are they and why they escaped suddenly last night.

“Why do you have to look for them? If you can wait here.” Calcifer objected.

“I want to know Rem and Rom’s family and offered them to stay with us.” This is a good offer, their father doesn’t have to worry about Rem and Rom when they will get home and nothing bad will happen to them again.

“No, you can’t.” He disagrees. Doesn’t he like Rem and Rom to stay with us? Wait, the last time…he avoided Rem and Rom too.

“I know you don’t like Rem and Rom but I should be the one to decide if they stay here or not.”

Calcifer was about to say something but he stopped himself, “Fine, do what you want.”

“Do you remember the house where you get the bucket?” Bucket? Oh, I remember. How did he know that I didn’t mention it to him?

“Yes, I remember.” So, he’s been spying on me ha.

“That’s is where they live.” That’s their home!? I stole their bucket! I should give it back. I hope they didn’t see me stealing it.

“Thank you, I’ll head there right now.” I’m glad Calcifer told where they live if he didn’t, I have to search the whole area to find them.

I left the room and head toward that house.

A minute later, I roam around the forest. I hate to admit but I lost my way to the house.

I remember how to go there but for me the place are the same in my eyes

I am kind of lost.

I keep moving forward to find luck that my feet lead me to the house.

I got caught up in something. It sprayed me in the face, it clouded my sight.

“What is this?” I brushed the thing in my eyes but it was still there.

It won’t come off.

I can’t see clearly and I don’t even know where I’m going.

I heard some footsteps and a whimper like he is carrying a heavy object.

I hid in the bush. I can’t see very well who’s the person is and I don’t want them to see me here, what if they are here to make out in the forest? It will be embarrassing if they see me here.

I heard a thud. Are they doing hardcore?

What if I look is not that I can see their faces? Just a glimpse.

I made a hole in the bush and look through it.

As I look at the hole even though it’s blurry, I know what the person doing to the other person.

The person was lying on the ground while the person is hitting his head with a hard stick multiple times.

Their silhouette is telling me that the person is killing me.

I covered my mouth so that I cannot make a noise.

This is brutal. I continue to watch and I see how red things plash everywhere.

Who is this killer?

He throws away the stick near me. He wipe his sweat on his forehead and left.

I wait for the man to leave until I cannot hear his footstep.

I crawled towards the dead body and feel its skin.

His head and face are squashed so I hardly can’t identify who is this especially I can see very well.

As I touch his skin, it was wrinkled. It means that this guy is old.

I traced his height, he’s tall so it’s impossible that he’s Elder Goblin and Elder Phix.

Where can I find a person of the same height as this man?

The old man in the wheelchair. He has long legs and if you imagine it he is as tall as this dead man.

I am shocked by what I discovered.

Who killed him?

Rom and Rem! I am worried something might happen to them.

I covered the dead body and said, rest in peace.

Rem and Rom might be in trouble. I have to find them quickly.

That killer might do something to Rem and Rom. I can let that happen!

Not again...I'm going to save them this time.
