Chapter 33

I ran as fast as I can even I can't see well and been stumbled many times.

I have to make it in time.

I arrived.

The place is quiet. Which makes me more anxious.

Silence is a sign that something bad is gonna happen.

I got near the house and look through the window. Luckily, my sight is back. I can now see clearly.

I continue to look through and I found something that makes my blood boil.

I want to kill someone.

I can't believe what I'm witnessing.

How can he do that to his child? I want to cry, this really breaks my heart.

I'm going to kill this man.

I was about to storm but I felt dizzy. What's happening?

I have to stay awake. Pull yourself together!

I banged my head on the ground so it will wake me up by the pain but it didn't have effects until I lost my consciousness.

“Wake up!” I woke up. My hand is reaching something from above.

“You're awake.” Rom was sitting beside my bed.

“Rom, are you okay?!” That's right, I remember before I lost my consciousness.

“Why are you asking us? Nothing bad happens to us.” I hear a girl’s voice. It's Rem.

It's been a long time since I heard her voice.

“You should not worry about us, you should worry about yourself instead.”

“Why should I worry!? Your fath–“ he cut me off.

“You been sprayed by a Delulu Plant in the forest.” Delulu Plant? Isn't it the plant that gives you confusion and hallucination. I actually didn't see what kind of plant that sprayed me at the face so I didn't know that it was the Delulu Plant.

“You're having hallucinations and lost consciousness. Luckily, we found you. You're body were full of bruises and splinters. We asked help from the goblin and they carried you here.”

So, what I see, isn't real and I'm just hallucinating?

“Thank Goodness.” I'm glad that it’s not true. “I really though something happens to you two.”

“We’ve been asleep for two months! We don't want another month.” Rem joked.

“I'm glad that you two are okay, I was about to lose my mind if what I just see is true.”

I’m so glad that I can't stop smiling.

“What did you see to worry like that?” Rom asked.

Ah…I can't tell them! They might get disgusted.

“Nah...let's just forget about it.” There are a hint of sadness in the face of Rom. He must really wanted I know.

“Glad you're awake.” Calcifer entered the room.

“Is your ear hurts like it’s itching to hear somethings.” The last part he lowered his voice.

My ears…?

“No, it's not itching. This is the first you faced each other, right?” Before, when Rem and Rom visit me, he ran away. What gotten into him?

“Yes, this is the first time.” He answered.

“Aren’t you going to introduce each other?” they've been staring each other for a while now.

“No need. I know them.”

Huh? Is this what you called love at first sight? Is that why Calcifer always ran away because he is shy? And, when Rom wakes up he gathered his courage to talk to Rom!! I didn't know Calcifer is into a boy?!

I'm having butterflies but! Calcifer is the same age as me and Rom is just 12 years old! The age gap is too big! I'm not letting the ship sail!

“Rom! Come with me!” I get off from bed and grabbed Rom's hand.

“Where are you going? Let me come.” Calcifer wanted to go with us.

“No,” I blocked Rom from Calcifer, “You’re not coming with us, we are going to boring places.”

“Where is this boring places will be? Calcifer asked.

“The river. I'm to let Rom and Rem see the Water System.” I excused. I know that Calcifer don't like boring things, so I know he will gave up on coming with us.

“I’m still coming.”

Eh? Right… Silly me. There's no boring places if you are with someone you like.

Third Person POV.

The four are walking towards the Water System.

Ester, Calcifer, Rem and Rom.

As they head there, Ester cannot rest and always on guard. She stuck herself between Rom and Calcifer, she doesn't want them to walk side by side.

Sometimes, Ester catches the two glancing to each other and she thinks that, little by little they are falling inlove.

But, the truth is. This is what in their minds.

Rom was talking with Rem, this is what they are talking about.

“Rom, this Calcifer guy knows something about us but she can't tell Ester.”

“I felt it too.” Rom replied.

“Did you hear the time she told Ester, if her ear is itching? She's giving Ester a hint! I'm glad that Ester didn't hear it.”

“He keeps glancing at us.” Rom noticed that Calcifer keeps on glancing at them, that makes them think that this guy really knows about them.

While in Calcifer's mind.

“Why aren't they telling Ester anything?” he thought in his mind while glancing at the Twin.

“I go along with them so that I can hear their confession but they haven't said anything.”

Calcifer was just excited to heard the Twin making a confession and he wanted to hear it when he is around.

Their tour ended with Ester misunderstanding, Calcifer not in a mood and Rem and Rom getting suspicious of Calcifer.

Ester POV.

We got back and arrived at home.

Rem and Rom we’re heading home before that I told them to stay with us includes his father and grandfather but they refuse and he said that he cannot leave their home where they are born and grow.

I have no choice but to let them be. I tried to help but they wanted to stay to the place where they grow up.

The day after. Rem and Rom is late. Usually, they arrived here at 6 am where everyone still asleep and made me food to eat. But today, they are late.

I can't help myself but to worry. I've been worrying a lot when it comes to Rem and Rom.

“Child, the Fairies are making something. Do you want to see?” The lady.

“I’m not in a mood right now.”

The face sadden.

“Are you sure? You're going to miss this out.” The lady asked again.

“Nah, passed.” I lifelessly answered.

“I heard that something happened yesterday, Are you okay?” she worried asked.

“I'm fine.”

“They said that you're hands is bloody when they saw you.” Ugh…how many times do I have to repeat myself that I'm fine.

“Did you say blood?” I asked.

“Yes, not only your hands but also your skirt and it's not from you since you only have bruises and splinters. Did you kill someone?”

The blood wasn't mine.

That day, I touched the dead body that's why I have blood in my hands but I thought it's part of my hallucination caused by the Delulu Plant.

It's real...

The blood is real…the dead body is real…

Then what I saw in that house is real?

“Child, where are you going!?”

I didn't listen to the Lady, I ran as fast I can go to where the dead body is.

And, there. I see lying on the ground still the same as the last I left it.

I can clearly see the dead body right now and who it was.

The grandfather.

I check the plant that sprayed me, and I discovered that it was not a Delulu plant but a Sleep plant that makes you sleep and it will take effect in 15 minutes.

I kneeled and sobbed from the realization that I ignore the things that I thought is just my hallucinations. The worst is I ignore it in front of Rem and Rom.

Why did I easily believe them?!

I have to go to that house.

I'm gonna kill that man!

I have arrived and just like before the place is silent. It is was like, if you make a noise you will be the first one to get killed.

I didn't waste any time and entered the house. That I wished I didn't.

In the ground, there lies the body of Rem and Rom encircled with a pentacle. A knife was pierced in their chest and a wound from multiple parts of the body was seen that caused by a knife.

Besides, the pentacle is a man wearing black cloak and reciting an incantation.

I approached the man and grab his collar then scolded him, “What did you do!?” it didn't break his focus and continue reciting.

“Witch…Is that you?” I heard Rem speaks.

“Rem…” I held their body up. “I'm going to save you!” I carried their body to get out of the pentacle but a barrier stopped us and I tried to erase the pentacle but it's just keeps on fixing itself.

“Once it started there's no stopping it.” Rom laughed of what he said.

“There's something you didn't know.” I can feel his grip on my clothes.

“You're name...I didn't said it.” He said.

“Of course, you can't. You'll be cursed if you said it.” he's the one who told me about it.

“I can but I'm not your follower.” Follower? I’m not some kind of the head of a cult, am I?

“It’s not in Great Grandfather’s book so you didn’t know since I erased that part. A person can say your name if he/she is your follower. Moon, Alpha, Evangeline, Calcifer, and others has been saying your name but you didn’t notice because you cannot distinguish or remember names that’s why you’ve been using common nouns when calling someone.”

What nonsense is he saying? I’m aware that I’m using pronouns when calling someone but not knowing their name is absurd.

“I remember their names.” I defended.

“Do you remember The lady’s name, the lady who guards the gate?”

“That’s easy, It’s…I–It’s…I don’t remember.” What the? What is the name of the Lady??

“What about you, Calcifer and Moon? I remember your names.” Why do I remember their name and the others are not?

“That…I wonder why. But, I’m glad you remember me and Rem. Rem can’t talk to you anymore because she is crying right now and she is hurting too. She told me to tell you this, ‘Don’t you dare forget about us!’” he’s getting weaker and weaker.

“Sounds like you, Rem but I’m not going to let you two die.” Hot liquids pour out of my eyes.

“There’s nothing you can do. By the way, thank you for saving us before but the son garm it’s not his fault that he hurt us. We’re just tired and wanted to get out of this world…” He coughed some blood

“Shh…stop talking.” I used my healing magic but the process is slow. And, my will magic is not working either.

“…we tried to kill ourselves but we remember you.” He coughs again.

“I said stop talking, you bastard…you’re dying but still, you talk too much.”

He giggled at what I said.

“You will be left alone, if we die. But, we don’t have to worry anymore since you have friends to look after you.” He smiled at me in his last moment. I’m holding his lifeless body and I can’t stop myself but to cry so loud that I don’t care what my face looks like.

Why did they leave me? We haven’t gone outside and see the world yet. I have many plans that I wanted to do together. I was going to find a way to break your curse but now, I’m losing my purpose.

“HAHAHAHA! Finally, He is coming!” the Father maniacally laughed. What’s his name again? Retard?

The pentacle glows in red.

“He is coming!” he’s jumping like crazy.

The barrier is still active so I can’t get out. I tightly hold Rem and Rom’slifeless body.

The Retard is still laughing excitingly.

“Who’s coming?” I asked the retard.

The Retard was surrounded by a black aura the same aura that My One has.

“A strong demon! One of the Tenebis! Jankik! HAHAHAHA!”

What is Tenebis? It means sword, right? Maybe it has different meaning here.

The glow spread to the entire room, it blinding that I have to cover my eyes.

When I felt that the glow is gone, I uncover my eyes and saw a blue creature in front of me.

The pentacle stops glowing so I check the barrier if it’s gone and it’s already did.

I immediately went out while holding the body of Rem and Rom.

The blue creature or a demon is levitating in the center of the pentacle. He has horns on his head and he only wearing a G-string loincloth that covers only his genitals.

“Lord Jankik…” The retard kneeled in front of the blue creature.

“You took so long.” His voice is big and echoed everywhere.

“Forgive me, Lord Jankik. I have to find a suitable summoner to summon you.” He bent his head down as if he was scared and he acted like a puppy.

“Are you sure that you’re not just playing around?” There was intimidation in his word.

“N-No, Lord Jankik.” His voice is trembling which is obvious that he is lying.

“Your lying.” The blue creature raised his hand and the retard starts to levitate. He was struggling to breathe.

“L-Lord Jankik! I’m not lying…” he’s choking even more. His eyeball is like popping out.

“L–lord J-Jankik…” he stopped moving. A black smoke was coming out from his mouth. It tried to escape but the blue demon catch it and grip it in his hand then it disappeared.

His attention is on me.

“You’re finally awake.” He knows me. That means Ester met this guy before.

“Why are you here blue creature?” I said.

He paused then laugh at me.

“That’s the funniest thing you ever called to me.” He still laughing. What does his relationship with Ester?

“I want to play with you but I have to kill you.” What a turn of events? You got to kill first the man that I wanted to kill so you have to pay it back.

“ I feel mutual.” I put the body of Rem and Rom in a place where is safe.

His fingers started to grow sharp and his teeth is pointed.

He came at me, he moved so fast that I can barely but I was able to defend myself. He’s scratching me from left to right. I was blown away to outside the wall got destroyed because of the impact.

I healed the scratches that I got from him.

It’s my turn to attack. I immobilized him with plant magic which he is stuck inside of the tree.

I made a ball of fire and throw it at me which explodes.

The smoke covered him so I don’t know if it affects him.

He came out in a flash and the only scratches were the result of my attack. He was smiling.

I defended myself again.

He keeps on scratching me until my skin shred.

“You’re weak.”
