Chapter 60

1012 Words
As I uncovered my eyes, I felt the disappointment coming through me. It is not because I didn’t see any men doing it or straight people doing it, it is because I expected wrong. What Lucios said isn’t true, there’s no such thing as ehem ehem but there’s only demon and Miss Luna’s employees fighting to each other physically and not sexually. The grunting and moaning doesn’t come from pleasure but from the pain, they receive when they are being hit. Who told Lucios anyway that the In’n is a Love Hotel!? “Why is your face looks disappointed?” I ignored Niko again. There’s a ring at the center and everyone surrounds it. They were cheering the ones inside in the ring. It was Avalon and another demon. “Exciting, isn’t it?!” So this is what Niko means that it is exciting. “She is fighting but why is she wearing a thin layer of clothes that is quite revealing and with makeup?” I asked. The Demon was attacking Avalon but she dodge all the attacks in graceful and elegant, looks like she was enchanting her enemy. “Even though our work is like this wrestling with one another, Beauty is still our priority.” Said Miss Luna from behind. She was also watching Avalon fighting with a demon. “Beauty is everything for us, if you look beautiful…you have confidence in your passion.” “I certainly disagree!” being beautiful will give you confidence? What a joke. “You don’t have to be beautiful to have passion! All you need is trust in yourself, you may be beautiful but if you don’t have trust you cannot achieve anything…you will stay in a dark place wandering what you did wrong and what you didn’t realize in the first place.” I end up scolding Miss Luna which I shouldn’t have done because I might lose my job, free room, and free food. “You may not understand, right now. But, when you are with us soon you will learn how important beauty is.” She didn’t get affected by what I said. “Niko, teach West her job.” Niko saluted, “Yes, Miss. West, come with me “ She didn’t even falter. She just standing there, like she expected me to say this. What happened to her for she didn’t even have second thoughts of what I said? “West, come on.” Niko grabs me and gets me out of there but my eyes still haven’t taken off to Miss Luna. We arrived in a room where clothes and make-up are seen. “Come here, West. I’m going to retouch your makeup.” She moved the chair so I can sit then dusted off the foam. I am seated and in front of me is a mirror. I look at my reflection and I can see that I am wearing makeup and wearing a thin layer just like everyone. “Let me retouch your foundation…” she pat the powder in my face while happily humming. “Niko…do you also believe what Miss Luna said?” She shakes her head, “Nope.” “Then, why didn’t you say something?” if she also disagrees with Miss Luna then why she didn’t oppose of what Miss Luna said. “I don’t want her to change her perception if she thinks that beauty is everything then let her be.” Isn’t she concerned about Miss Luna? If she has a mindset like that it will lead her to an unspeakable situation. “It will lead her to a wrong path!” “Since you are new you still don’t know, you see…” she’s about to tell me something. “The In’n have been running for hundreds of years, every head of the In’n are brainwashed to think that Beauty is everything so that the concept of the In’n will stay the same and run for a few more years. So, you can’t blame Miss Luna if she thinks like that.” Is there such a thing? Brainwash, ha. Did they use magic in brainwashing? I might undo it but it may affect the business reputation. “You’re done!” Niko finished my retouch. “You’re so beautiful!” she complimented. I don’t think I should be happy about that. “Let’s start serving now.” Niko gave me a tray where the serving are put while serving to the customers. “Niko, wait.” Before I go out of the room, there’s something I have to clarify first. “Isn’t the demons are our enemy?” “Yes, but because of us we were able to maintain peace here in Marsh Ao Kingdom.” Because of us? What does she mean about that? I was about to ask her again but she already left which left me here in the room. I don’t want to stay here alone so I also went out of the room then I look around and everyone was looking at me. I felt a bit of embarrassed and continued to walk where Niko is. I can feel the glaring behind my back and I think it’s the flower. Now I just realized the meaning of their glares, it was jealousy. Jealousy that I might steal their seats that they earned which was unfair because I am new and they are been here for a long. Everyone moves on and continues but still, I can feel some of the stares. “West, give this to table 27.” Niko place the order in my tray then I walk towards table 27. I saw Avalon which is sitting at the table of the customers and she was glaring at me. From her stares, I can say she doesn’t like me. I place the order in table 27. All I did at work is serve customers back and forth. It was nerve-wracking because they are demons. Some tried to befriend me but I rejected them because I'm might become their killer in the future.
