I saw the boy standing between the corpses– I mean the unconscious body.
“I did this so you can get home.” He’s in shock.
I really cross the line.
I use healing magic on them, “Don’t worry, they are not dead.”
The man in the ground shows that they are breathing and so the boy got a little breather but even though they died I will take responsibility for it and not him.
“Hey! What are you doing?!” a group of knights came.
Oh no…I can’t get in trouble–wait, I mean, I don’t want to get caught!
The boy grabbed my hand and drag me in the corners.
Why is he going there? That’s the way of Black Market
I saw the knight coming at us.
Did he know that the walls are just an illusion and it’s the entrance of the Black Market?
Of course, he knows because he is from here, duh.
We passed through the wall.
I think the knights don’t know about the black market since it’s keeping a secret from the royal family but I know some of them know and just keeping their mouth shut.
The Black Market, nothing to expect just illegal things, illegal transactions, selling slaves, and... hybrids?
Human is the worst. They’ll do anything that benefits them.
“Follow me.” Said the boy.
I followed him in the crowd, even it’s night the Black Market is full of people.
I hold his shirt so that I can’t lose him.
“By the way, aren’t you going to ask me about what happened out there? Why did they chase me?” he started and still focus on the road.
“No.” I really don’t care and I don’t mind it anymore, as long as we are saved…what happened before is nothing.
“What about them calling me gay?” he asked again.
“No.”
“Aren’t you curious if it’s true or not?” how many questions does he have to ask? I really don’t care if who he really is if he’s an anime, an insect, or other else.
“No.”
I hope he stops asking questions.
“Do you know why they call me gay?” again…with the question, really?
“No.” I hope he shut up.
“Because I wear a veil…” he continued.
“The veil symbolizes that I am different from all of you.”
“…” I didn’t answer. I waited for him to continue.
“You must be wondering, why wear it if you’ll get discriminated? Well, I’m not scared for who I am. What I am scared of is denying who truly am and wasn’t able to express myself.”
“You’re a strong person.” I said. He knows he will be discriminated against and laughed at but still, he came out and doesn’t mind anyone.
So, that’s everyone was looking at him.
“I’m not strong. I hide in the dark alley and waited for someone to save me. I am a Coward.” I can see that he smiled bitterly.
“It’s not being a coward, you just using your mind. You know, you can’t use magic and there were more of them for me…if I were in your position I will think logically and hide somewhere.”
I don’t believe that he is a coward for me, what he did is amazing. He waited for hours and stay in the dark alley, I wouldn’t last that for long especially it's cold outside.
He glimpses at me and smiled, “You’re the first one to call me amazing. Thank you.”
It made me flutter.
I hope I could be strong like him. I’m strong but not that where I can express truly myself.
“We’re here.” We stopped at a big house.
It was old and dirty.
“Why are we here?” Is this the way outside?”
He shakes his head, “No, this is where I live.”
Huh? Does he live in the black market?!
“It’s dangerous here so why live here!”
He laughed.
“My master like underground places and only the marketplace located at the underground that is full of supplies.”
Ohh…they are the same with Virgil.
Virgil likes the underground too.
We entered the house.
“Virgil, are you here?” He called.
Oh… They have the same name too! This is no coincidence.
“Virgil!” I wasted no time and called Virgil too.
“Virgil! Virgil! Virgil!” I search for him everywhere.
I turn off my disguise because I was hoping that if he sees me he might know that I am Ester.
“Who’s keeps on shouting?”
A man got out of a room, scratching his ear from the noise.
How lucky of me to find Virgil this easily!
The man looks at me, with wide eyes.
He recognizes me! I was right, it is Virgil.
“Virg–“
“Who let an intruder get in here?!” he shouted angrily.
I got scared that I back off.
“Virgil, I’m the one who let her in.” The boy steps up between us.
He’s scary…
Doesn’t he remember this face?
I hide behind the back of the boy.
“Didn’t I tell you to never let anyone get in here?!” He shouted again. Why he is so high blood!?
“I’m sorry, Virgil.” The boy apologized.
“No, you have nothing to apologize for. He should apologize for shouting at us!” this is wrong, the boy has nothing to apologize for. Why is he so angry?
He glared at me, I take the courage to glare at him too.
“Who are you? Why did you come here?” the man asked me.
“I am looking for someone name Virgil which I thought it was you but I am mistaken and about my name, you don’t deserve it.” I flip my hair and get out of the house.
I disguise myself again.
How rude of that guy.
The boy followed.
“I’m sorry…” he’s catching his breath, did I walk that fast for him to need to take a breath? “that you got shouted by Virgil. He is not like that at all, he is a good person.”
I doubt after he acted like an angry man.
“If you don’t mind, I want to invite you to my home and this time I will vouch for you also Virgil will not gonna do that again.” He begged.
I thought it was Virgil because the boy said that Virgil also likes to live in underground and they have the same name furthermore it was also my fault for getting excited and calling Virgil inside the house.
I can’t decline when he is begging like this, I have no choice…
“Fine. By the way, I haven’t known your name?” I’ve been calling him boy since we meet and I haven’t asked his name.
“Right…I haven’t told you.” He extended his hand and introduce himself. “I am Lucios Zephyr.”
