Who Is Ester Winch?

Chapter 31

It’s been half a month and I don’t know why but everyday, I found myself holding a hoe and shaping the soil. After this, I’ll help constructing the houses.

Isn’t my job to make sure that the work is done but why does I am the one who is now working?

“Such a hardworker.” I heard Calcifer said. Where does this guy gone to? He’s been missing f Calcifer or half.

“Where you’ve been? I’ve been looking for you!”

His face is frustrated, “What do you need me for?”

“You know a lot about magic so could you teach the young ones on how to use it?” he is the only that don’t have work and knows a lot of magic. I hope he agrees to be a teacher.

“No.” He disappeared, again.

“Lazy Bastard!”

Someone throw a rock at me.

“Ouch, that hurts.”

I saw Calcifer holding a rock in his hand and disappeared again. Did he just throw rocks at me?

“Quit playing around!” Pink Muscular Fairy shouted at me. She is so scary!

It’s break time and I’m going to hide from work.

I’m not being lazy and I’ve been working non-stop, I just wanted to rest even just for a day.

They will not notice me running away if I hide my presence.

I’m going to hide in Rem and Rom’s room, since Ghost is the only one there and I’m going to hide my presence so that I cannot disturb him.

It’s been so long since I have last seen Ghost, I should bring something for him.

I guess he is hungry, let’s grab some fruits.

“Hoy, who stole my food?” Pink Muscular Fairy asked the brown fairy that is beside her.

“I don’t know.” Brown Fairy answered.

“You stole it, didn’t you?” the Pink Muscular Fairy is now agitated.

“Hah! Are you calling me a thief?!”

The two fairies are grabbing each other collars.

Hahaha! I’m the one who stole it but they didn’t notice because I’m using magic.

I thought Fairies are graceful and elegant but from what I observed, they are much like humans.

They have their own personality and traits. This must be the saying that, ‘Don’t judge a book if it’s not a notebook.’

I have to go, gonna go and visit Ghost!

I looked for the room where Rem and Room are, after I found it, I opened the door.

I’m going to see Rem and Rom again, it’s been so long since I last saw them.

Is the treatment not yet done?

I entered the room and I saw something that I hope I didn’t see.

I let go of the foods that I was holding, it hit the ground and scattered everywhere.

Without thought, I ran towards to Moon who is surrounded by his own blood.

He was kneeling and his fingers are intertwined to each other.

“Moon!” the blood is coming from his stomach which is pierce by a sword.

I am about to pull it out but, “Don’t touch it! If you do, the spell will be broken.”

“You’re going to die!” He lost a lot of blood!

I noticed that there are dried dark red stains on the floor.

Is this what I think it is? He’s been like this for half a month.

“Don’t worry…I’ll heal after I am done.”

Still, this is not right! He is hurting himself!

“Stop! I’ll pull out the sword right now.”

Someone grab me from behind and immobilized me.

“I’ve been looking for you.” Said the Lady.

Lorelie POV.

Ester is planning to visit Moon but I can’t let her!

She musn’t see Moon until he is done treating Rem and Rom.

That’s why I’ve been telling Miss Madonna, the pink fairy, and Sir Sunny, the goblin, to keep her busy and give her a load of works.

As much as possible, I’m keeping her away from Evangeline, Elder Bonnie, and Elder Bun-bun. She might request them to take her place and I don’t want to shoo them away again.

I might get cruel to her but, forgive me!

I have to check how she is doing since it’s her break time she may be with Miss Madonna.

Everyone is fussing about something.

“I said, I didn’t steal your food!”

“Liar! I know that you’re the one who took it!”

Miss Madonna was fighting with another Fairy.

“What happened?” I asked the Fairy that is gossiping with other Fairy.

“Edena stole Madonna’s food.” She answered.

“I heard that! I told you I didn’t steal it!”

I looked around to find Ester maybe she is also gossiping to other Fairies. But, she’s nowhere to be found.

I went to the construction site cause maybe she is there.

I asked Sir Sunny but he hasn’t seen Ester.

I stopped the time and looked everywhere but there’s no traces of her.

There’s only one thing that I didn’t check, the room where Moon is.

I immediately went there and I was right, she is here.

She was about to pull out the sword that is in Moon’s chest.

I turned the time into normal.

I grab her and stayed her away from Moon.

“I’ve been looking for you.”

Ester POV.

“I’ve been looking for you.” She grabbed my hand and was about to drag me but I resist.

“Child, let’s go back to work.” Work? Can’t she see the sword in Moon’s chest? Unless…

“Do you know about this?” she looked away.

She knows.

Again. They did it again.

They don’t tell me anything.

“To active his healing magic, he has to hurt himself. There’s nothing you can do, this is the only way to save Rem and Rom.”

No…this is not the only way. If we search for another option then we don’t have to let Moon treat Rem and Rom

“If you told me that, I shouldn’t have agreed to let Moon heal Rem and Rom, I know there’s another option to save them.”

“If there is, do you think you have the time to save them? The spell that I used to them only gave us enough time, if we going to find another option…we will not make it.”

I am flustered.

When I found out that I have the power to make anything using my will. There’s a spark of hope within me. I thought I can use this to save Rem and Rom.

But, if I could use my will to save Rem and Rom then there’s no need for Moon to hurt himself but when I tried it, it didn’t work.

That’s why I’ve been aching to get the Holy Treasure.

“Ester, I’m fine. Trust me.”

Trust? Even though, you don’t trust me at all. Why should I trust you?

“Let’s go, Child.” The lady grabbed my hand. “Let’s leave Moon alone so that he can concentrate.”

I snatched my hand back.

“If you want to leave, Leave. I’m staying here.”

My conscience will not take it if something happened to Moon so I’ll look after him.

“Okay, then. Leave the workload to me.”

I nodded and then she left.

I sat down and joined Moon. I silently observed him and waited for him.

I hope that I’m not a bother to him.

Lorelie POV.

“She’s scary…”

“Shh…she might hear you.”

“If only the other goblins work like you, we might finish this in only a week.”

“Every time she hit the nail there’s the intent to kill.”

“Lore, what’s wrong with you?”

“Lore!”

I snapped out and Alpha is already beside me. When did he come here?

“You’ve been aggressively hitting the nail multiple time and you’ve finished many houses in a short time for days. What’s wrong with you?”

What’s wrong with me…? I–I–….

I bursted out.

“Why are you crying??” Alpha was rattling.

“Hey! Don’t hug me! My wife might get mad!” Alpha hold both of my shoulder and pushed me away.

I cried even louder.

I remember Ester pushed me away when Alpha pushed me.

“Hey…”

“She’s mad at me!!”

“Who’s mad at you?”

“Her!”

“Who??”

“I can’t say her name!”

“You mean, Ester?”

“Yes!!”

Everyone was looking at us.

“What? You wanna fight?” They ran when I said that.

“Why do you think she is mad at you?” asked Alpha.

“I don’t know, I just felt it when she snatched her hand back and didn’t look at me.”

“You just felt it? “

I nodded.

“If you think that, she is mad at you then apologize.”

“She doesn’t want to see me…”

“Forced her to look at you then apologize.” If I do that, she might get more mad at me. I don’t want to make it worst.

“It’s almost the end of the month, do you really want to stay it like that? Especially, Rem and Rom are away her attention will focus on them.”

I can’t live if Ester stays mad at me therefore I have to fixed this before they wake up.

“Apologizes to her, okay.”

I nod.

“Good.”

“Mom, Papa is being lovey-dovey with Lady Lorelie!”

His shoulder raised and he bite his lower lip, “Son, I’m not. Don’t be a snitch!” He ran up to his son who is running toward his mom.

I should leave too because I might caught up into something.

Ester POV.

The lady came here yesterday and apologized to me. It is not that I’m angry but I’m hurt that they don’t tell me anything. Still, I accept her apology.

The door slowly opened and Fairy appeared peeking at the door.

When she saw me, she gesture to come outside.

I tiptoed towards the door because I don’t want to disturb Moon.

I silently closed the door and faced the Fairy.

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry to disturb but someone is looking for Rem and Rom, outside.”

My brows arch and my lips tighten.

“Who?”

“Their Father.”

Rem and Rom didn’t mention any relative, I thought they are living alone.

I have to meet this Father.

“Where is he?”

“Follow me.”

We arrived at the construction site. There are already finished houses and the road is fixed.

Not far ahead, I saw a blond man and an old man in a wheel chair.

They noticed us. The old man waved at us.

“Greetings.” They greeted us.

I greeted them back.

“I’m the Witch. You can call me Witch.”

“I know about you and your name.” of course, he does before Rom and Rem , the Book of Shoes is yours. But first, I have to know if he really is related to Rem and Rom.

“I heard that you are the father of the twin. Can you prove it?”

“Rem and Rom are using one body.” Everyone knows about that.

“Anything else?”

“If you look closely, their body have different eye color.” The old man said.

I told no one about that and everyone here haven’t actually saw Rem and Rom except for Calcifer and those who enter the room.

“Okay, you have proven that you are related to Rem and Rom.”

“Where are they?” the father asked.

“There’s a bit of a problem.”

His lip tightens, saying that he is distraught.

“You can’t see them, wait for another day.”

He is flustered.

“You’re telling me, I can’t see my children?!” he shouted.

I can’t tell him what happened to Rem and Rom.

“They’ve been missing for almost two months! And, you’ve been hiding them from me!”

“I’m not hiding them from you. This is not just the right time to see them.”

“Give back my children!” he was about to throw a punch at me but Alpha catch his fist before it hit my face.

Alpha is shooting glares at him.

He was threatened and step back.

“When will we see them?” the old man asked.

“At the end of the month.” The old man is thinking about it.

“Okay then, we will wait until the end of the month. We will come back when that day comes.”

“Thank you for understanding.”

“Rebus, Let’s go home.”

He walks away and pushed the old man in wheelchair.
