Pixie POV.
We were about to go home when we saw that there are already Knights waiting for us.
“How did they notice us?” The woman in front looks at us as we sneak at the rooftop.
She is surrounded by Knights.
“Pixie.” Petunia called me, “I’ll use illusion magic to give you time to escape.”
“What about you?” Is she going to face them alone? Don't tell me she's trying to be a hero?
“I’ll follow, we can’t escape unless I sacrifice to give you time.”
Sacrifice? Why does she have to sacrifice if we can face them together!
“No, we are going to fight them together!” what the use of our teamwork training if we’re not going to use it right now?
She held both of my shoulders and let me face her.
“Listen up, Pixie. The woman over there is wearing the coat of a Commander and I can feel a great power in her.”
We can defeat her if we team up!
“I don’t care if she’s a commander…” I pouted.
“Please, Pixie. Lead the others to escape.”
She’s begging…I don’t want to go. But if this is the only way to make us all out alive then I have no choice.
“Fine.” The sadness to leave her here still lingers in my heart.
“Thank you.” She patted my head.
She treated me like a child, I hate that side of her.
“Move to the edge of the house, once I signal… an illusion of yourself will replace your place so you have to go down and change disguise.” She instructed.
We nodded.
We waited for her signal. I can hear my heartbeat and it was like a time bomb waiting for it to explode.
“Go.”
I can see her back as I was falling and everything was in slow-mo.
I’m already on the ground then we disguise ourselves as one of the humans passing by.
We head in the opposite direction.
“Wait, are we really going to leave Petunia?” Mammon as she grips my coat.
“Petunia said so.” I also don’t want to leave her alone but we have to get to safety or else we’re going to get caught.
“But, we Phixes are always in group…”
I was taken aback when she said it.
“Before we met Ester, we always together in trouble, in getting food and in bathing. Are we going to change that just because we are different than before? Just because we level up we are going to leave our friends!”
I was speechless. This little girl was able to make me remember what we Phixes are.
How can this little girl say the words that I cannot think of? Thanks to her, I was able to realize the important things about being a Phixes.
“Thank you, Mammon.” I pinch her cheeks.
“Ow…” she covered her cheeks because afraid of being pinched again.
“Listen up! We are not going to run away because we are going to fight. We are going to help Petunia!” I encourage them.
When we level up I felt like something different but now I realize what it is, is because we are not dependent on each other anymore and don't seek help from one another but Mammon made me realize that and I am going to bring it back.
They agreed to stay but I know this also thanks to Mammon, she was able to make her words reach the others too.
We establish a plan.
The Knight spreads and they are looking for us, it seems Petunia's illusion magic didn’t work.
We planned to take down the Knight one by one so that after this, they will not follow us.
We saw a knight in the road, we made an illusion version of his self and we made him follow it then once he’s alone we will attack him.
We did it to every knight we see, when we have already done. I use the uke to communicate with Petunia cause I want her to know the Knights are already defeated.
“Petunia, we are still here and we took care of the Knights.” I reported through the uke.
“…”
“Petunia?”
“YOU’RE CRAZY I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE!” she shouted.
That hurts my eardrum, I didn’t expect her to shout.
“We can’t do that.” I tried to calm my voice cause boy! I wanted to shout at her too for telling us to leave.
“YOU WANNA DIE!” she shouted again! I want to throw away the uke but my friends here are stopping me.
“Stop acting cool, did you forget that Phixes are always together? In sickness, In health and bathing.” I sound it like a joke but I hope she gets what I meant.
“Hm, fool.” I heard her snigger.
I was about to go after her but my friends here again stopped me.
“We going there to help you.” I calm myself.
“…”
I didn’t hear anything from her.
“Petunia?”
We started to get worried.
“Petunia?” I called her again.
“Is something wrong?” Mammon worriedly asked.
“Hey Petunia!”
“What?” This woman almost gave me a heart attack!
I gave a thumbs up to the others telling them that Petunia is okay.
“Are you alright?” just making sure.
“Yes, I’m alright. Find a way out and I will meet you out there.”
I followed what she ordered.
I took the lead to find an exit and I found one at the south.
I told Petunia where we are and she told us to wait for her.
We waited. Thankfully, no one is here.
We heard someone approaching and she walks like dragging her feet.
We prepared ourselves to attack because it might a Knight that followed us here.
We waited for her to take a turn to us, once she’s near we are going to attack her.
But, we stopped when we saw Petunia.
“Petunia!”
She is injured and has cuts in her body.
We treated her before we set to go home.
I carried her behind me while she is asleep.
Finally, we’re going home.
