To say my head was throbbing would've been an understatement. When I finally came to myself, I was lying with my face buried in the damp earthy ground of the woods somewhere in Slovakia, according to Ivan. Somehow, even with the concussion I had at that moment, I was painfully aware that I was very far away from my home in Austin, Texas.
