When they returned home, the handsome and cold man said nothing more, as if he had brought home the dust that clung to the car roof.
When she walked back to the residence, which was empty at the time because Aunt Mai and Noom would return around half-past eight, but it was only eight o'clock, and the master had just come back.
Anchaya took a shower, changed clothes, and sat doing her homework alone until everyone returned to the residence, including her Uncle Phon, who called her to ask about what had happened after hearing some of it from the master.
Uncle Phon felt like scolding his niece because something had just happened at school, and now there was another issue with that guy, To. But seeing her sad face, he only grumbled lightly.
"Your luck must be down, Ann. It's just one thing after another."
"I think so too. I was just walking, and suddenly I ran into that guy, To. He tried to pull me into his car without a word. If I hadn't shaken my hand free and made him stumble, who knows what might have happened to me by now." She sobbed softly.
"Alright, alright, you're okay now. No need to cry. Tomorrow, I'll take you to make merit at the temple."
"Noom wants to go too, Uncle Phon," Noom chimed in, joining the conversation, while Aunt Mai was more interested in the post-news drama than the conversation between the uncle and niece.
"Alright, let's all go together. Your luck might be as down as Ann's," Phon said, with a slightly exasperated look.
Since it was a holiday, after making merit in the late morning with Phon and Noom and having lunch outside, in the afternoon, Anchaya spent her time doing homework and reading until late afternoon as the sun was setting. She then went to water the plants as part of her duties.
The area she was responsible for was quite far from the main building, but it is close to the tree-lined fence that marks the boundary of the orange building. The entrance gate is on a different fence from the main building, as if it were a separate territory, with only a trellis archway serving as a passage between the two houses.
Noom told her that people from the Orange Building were not allowed into the main building's area, and vice versa, except for those who had permission, all of whom were servants. But in this house, there was only one master; the rest were all servants, except for her. Therefore, she was probably the only one not allowed into the Orange Building's area.
While watering the plants in that area, Anchaya heard squeals and laughter. She peeked through the flower trellis and saw a group of beautiful women in bikinis enjoying themselves in the pool. The sole master of the house was in swim trunks, lounging comfortably on a beach chair, his handsome face, like a gift from heaven, looking relaxed and adorned with a smile.
It was the first time she had seen him smile, and he looked even more handsome. It's a pity that he never smiles like that in front of her.
Of course, she's just a mistress he isn't fond of.
She felt her face heat up when a beautiful, sexy woman with a slender figure but an ample bust sat on his lap. The two kissed passionately as if the world only had them, even though there were six other women enjoying themselves in the pool.
Besides feeling flushed, her stomach churned as if a tropical storm had passed through when she saw the master's large hand reaching out to grope the woman's ample chest on his lap.
But as she was absorbed in the provocative scene playing out live in front of her, she was suddenly jolted from behind, accompanied by a voice.
"Hey! Whoa! Aah!"
Someone walked and tripped over her. Besides the startled scream, the sound of glass and bowls falling to the floor followed. Ann was also startled when she heard the scream. She turned the hose with flowing water towards the newcomer, who was none other than the maid from the big building, carrying a tray of snacks for the master in the orange building.
This caused a loud commotion in the area, drawing the attention of those around the pool, including the master.
"Ann, what the hell are you doing!" It was Nan, Noom's younger sister, who was the unfortunate maid.
"Sister Nan, I'm sorry," Ann said, raising her hands in fear. It wasn't Nan she was afraid of, but her boss who was heading straight towards her, now dressed in a white robe.
"The master's snacks are all spilled. We're doomed," Nan said, looking worried.
"What happened!" a stern voice demanded as he stopped in front of the two girls.
"It was Ann, sneaking around the entrance. I didn't see her and bumped into her, and she sprayed water on me, causing me to drop the snack tray," Nan reported to her boss, while Ann bowed her head. After running to turn off the water tap, she muttered and put her hands together in a gesture of apology.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spill the snacks."
"Nan, clean up and take the snacks back to the main building, and bring a new set to the library."
"Yes," Nan said, gathering the scattered items before walking briskly back to the main building.
"What were you sneaking around here for?" Chinaphop barked at the girl, who still seemed frightened of him.
"I was watering the plants around here."
"Just watering the plants, right!"
"Well, I've never seen the orange building before, so I just... um, peeked a little," she confessed, not entirely truthfully.
"Oh, so you're curious, huh!"
"I just happened to see, I didn't mean to look," she confessed, closer to the truth.
"You're a child who doesn't know your place. From now on, after school, stay in the house and around your quarters. Don't do anything else, and remember, don't let me see your face again!"
Chinaphop shouted angrily, then walked straight back to the main building, as he was no longer in the mood to enjoy himself with the girls.
Anchaya watched the master's tall figure until he was out of sight, then walked back to her quarters with a dejected expression, took a shower, changed clothes, and sat tearfully in her room until evening, when Noom brought food from the main building for them to eat together.
"Nan told me everything. Sigh, your luck is really down lately. You even went to make merit. Anyway, for now, keep a low profile and don't let the master see your face again,"
"Yes," Anchaya replied softly before taking a bite of her food. The food was as delicious as ever, but today she ate less.
"Eat a lot, don't be sad. One day, when you turn twenty, the master might want to call you in to see him."
"Really?"
"Well, anything can happen. You're quite beautiful and cute, Ann. Keep eating," Num encouraged her, which made the girl look a bit more cheerful as she served food onto her plate.
The other continued eating until the plate was empty.
"Seems like you're falling for the boss, right?" Noom remarked softly, not intending to ask.
"No, I just want to stay in this house."
"In the position of a mistress for life, huh?"
"Any position is fine. I just don't want to leave this house because I don't want my father to sell me off to someone else."
"You could save up money and run away to live somewhere else, unless you want to stay here because you've fallen for the boss."
"Not really," she replied softly, sounding unsure, because she had never truly fallen in love with anyone. There were some flings with boys, as kids do, but Ann was confident she had never truly fallen in love with anyone.
But she admitted that Chinaphop made her heart race just by looking at her or when she looked at him, and her face flushed just by seeing his bare body and his passionate kissing scenes with his women.
If she were that woman, what would it be like?

You're daydreaming a lot, girl. Haha
