The soft glow of the morning light filtered through the blinds, casting thin stripes across the room. I sat up slowly, my fingers trailing along the cool sheets. Every morning had become a reminder of just how far we’d come, but today was different. There was a shift in the air, something heavier, yet somehow promising. Damien was gone.
