The moment my foot crossed onto the ancient ground, a sharp pulse rolled through the earth beneath me, like a heartbeat, slow, heavy, and alive. At that, I stiffened as the air thickened, pressing against my skin like unseen hands. Every breath I took carried a weight that made my lungs ache, and my pulse quicken. Beside me, was Dylan who was equally tensed, his sharp gaze scanning the ruins ahead. The stone structures, once nothing more than shattered remains of an era long forgotten, now moved with a dull, eerie glow.
