Chapter 3

Cassie led us to her place, as she danced in rejoice to her freedom. I couldn't go back to my place, as it would look suspicious, so he offered to house me until we escaped the country. "Welcome to my house." She said, as we walked into her apartment. We had to sneak in, to prevent the neighbours from finding out that she was around. "You know, we can't escape this country with our original passports, not when we are convicts." I said, as we sat down on her couch. "Of course I do know that. We'll need fake passports to do that, and I know just the right person." She said, smiling to herself. "And who's this person?" I asked, squinting my eyes as I looked at her. "Pedro Alejandro. He's a Mexican drug lord." She said, relaxing into her seat. "A drug Lord? Can we trust him?" I asked, uncertain about this Pedro guy. "Yes we can. We're kinda close. He has the surest connections when it comes to things like that." She said. I didn't say any other thing, deciding to take her word for it. The next day, we set out to this 'pedro' place. We were in hoodies, so as to hide our faces. Pulling up to a place that looked abandoned, we walked in. When we entered, I was left awestruck. No one would ever imagine a place like this stood behind the abandoned walls of the outside. Bags of cocaine, and money counting machines laid around. Immediately they sensed presence, guns were c****d and pointed In our directio. "Woah, woah, woah, chill out guys, it's me." Cassie hastingly said, as we raised our hands up. "Cassie?? When did you get out?" One of the guys asked, as he lowered his gun. "Oh I did a little prison break." Cassie said with a proud smile. "Ohhh. Welcome Michael Scofield." Another guy said. "Where's Pedro?" She asked. "He's in his office." The same guy replied. Cassie gave him a little salute, as she pulled me towards Pedro's office. " Cassie, you're out." The man I assumed to be Pedro said, drawing on his wrap of weed. He puffed out thick smoke, taking another drag. "Something like that." Cassie replied, shrugging her shoulders. "Who's she?" He asked, scrutinizing me under his gaze. I didn't like the looks he was giving me. "She's a friend of mine. Don't worry, she won't tell." As Cassie spoke, he kept giving me suspicious looks. "What brings you here?" Pedro asked. "We need Fake passports. Asap. One that can be done within 24 hours. Pedro looked between the both of us, before writing down an address on a piece of paper. "Go there, ask for Frankie, he should be able to do it. Tell him Pedro sent you." He said, handing us the piece of paper. We had to borrow some money from him, since we couldn't use our credit cards to avoid being tracked. We thanked him, then headed out. We got to the place and we met the guy. "We're looking for Frankie." Cassie said, immediately we walked into the place. Two men were seated, so we didn't know who among them was Frankie. "Who's asking?" The guy I assume to be Frankie asked, creasing his eyebrows in a frown. "Pedro sent us. We need fake passports ready by tomorrow." The frown on his face dissapeared as quickly as it came, immediately he heard Pedro's name. He agreed to help, and asked us to come collect it the next day. But as we were about to leave, my eyes caught something on a newspaper lying on the guy's desk. I picked up the newspaper and read the headline. It was an announcement of Torsney and Darcy's wedding. "What? You know them?" Cassie asked, as she saw how intently I stared at the paper. "No, I don't." I lied. She didn't push further, and we walked out. Seems like I have a wedding to crash. The next day, which was the day of the wedding and the day I collected my fake passport arrived. Darcy and I set out, wearing clothes that hide our faces. We got to the guy's place, and true to his words, the passports were ready. We paid a generous amount of money then left. I immediately booked a flight online to Toronto. After that, I decided to go to Torsney's wedding. "This is the last day we'll see each other." Darcy said, as I carried a little travelling bag, when she saw me leaving. "Thanks for accommodating me." I said, giving her a brief hug. "Thanks for letting me come out if that s**t hole with you. Have a fantastic free life Alba." She said, bidding me goodbye. Wearing a veil around my head to conceal my face, I walked into the church. I was putting on a black gown, and heels, and the veil was also black. People stared at me with weird eyes. I'm sure they're wondering if I was in the right place. Wearing all black to a wedding, it looked dramatic. I loved the looks I got. It only gave me more reason to want to do this. I took my seat at the extreme back of the church. Soon the wedding started and Torsney came. He looked drop dead sexy in his tux, and I was dripping from just his looks. When Darcy marched in, I felt like strangling her. Soon the wedding commenced. "If there's anyone in this congregation, who is against this holy matrimony, speak now or forever remain silent." The priest asked. This was the moment that I had been waiting for, so I stood up. The crowd gasp in shock, wondering who I was or why I objected to their marriage. Unwrapping the fail around my head, I revealed my face. Shock was written all over their faces. "What? You think you can have a peaceful marriage after throwing me in jail?" I asked, anger coating my voice.
