Chapter 2

We sat at the pool, sipping drinks and celebrating. It was I, Chester and Travis. Martins had some things to tend to. Sam was playing in a little balloon on the pool. "Cheers to the latest groom in town." Chester said, raising his glass towards me. I smiled, raising my glass towards his glass in return, Travis also doing the same. "Who would have thought you could be romantic?" Chester teased. He has been teasing me nonstop since the previous night when I told how I proposed to Darcy. "You two actually fell in love. Congratulations bro." Travis said, throwing me a brotherly smile. "So where's your bride-to-be?" Chester asked, slipping into the pool. "She went wedding shopping with her friend. Apparently she needs to get her dress before the city runs out of wedding dresses. Her words, not mine." I immediately said, as they were both giving me strange looks. They both chuckled, sipping from their glasses. "Chester, you need to bring home a girl and give up your single life." Travis said to Chester, a smirk playing on his lips. "For the first time in this life, Travis is actually making sense." I said, downing the remainder of my glass in one go. Travis threw me a side eye at my comment, but it only made Chester laugh. "Soon, and she'll be a bomb." He replied, gesturing with his fingers the gesture of an explosion. I shook my head at his words, as I turned my attention to my son. Two days before the wedding ALBA.... I've been in here for months, slowly rotting away. Life in prison isn't the way its portrayed in movies, it's a lot worse. I walked to the dinning hall, not bothering to associate with anyone. After I got the food, I looked for an empty spot to sit and quietly eat. Each passing day, my hatred for Darcy grew. If it weren't for her showing up, I'll still have Torsney for myself, and I wouldn't be in this hell hole. "Hey yo roomie." Cassie, my cellmate greeted, as she plopped down in the seat opposite me. She has been in this place for 7 years, and she has 10 more years to complete. "What do you want, Cassie?" I asked, not in the mood for her talks this morning. "Look, I'm trying to make this place comfortable for you. You'll be staying here for quite a while, so you better warm up." She said, her eyes holding an icy gaze. I rolled my eyes, sighing heavily. "I'm not here to play house Cassie. I'll rather be a lone wolf" I said to her "Nahh, wolves are stronger when they move with their packs." She said. Sometimes I did wonder how she could be this free spirited, stuck in a place like this. "And they easily die if their pack is infested with a disease." I countered, chewing on my food. She laughed, shaking my head. "You always have something to say." "It's the truth." I said. She looked back, then to the side, as if trying to be cautious of those around us, before she leaned in closer. "I've seen how officer Jules looked at you." She said, raising her eyebrow. I looked towards officer Jules who stood at the entrance. Our eyes met for a few seconds, and she looked away. If only Cassie knew what I had been planning. "What do you mean?" I asked, staring at her. "Common Alba, I recognize those stares. Those are stares someone who has eyes for you gives you." She said, sitting back down to continue her food. She was indeed right, Officer Jules had eyes for me. At first, when she approached me, I was surprised. Why would they hire a lesbian officer In a women's prison, until she told me she was Bisexual. I wanted to reject her at first, nobody comes close to Torsney in possession of my heart, but I could use her to my advantage. A well planned and backed up deserved prison break. "Do you think they'll hire a Lesbian in a Women's prison?" I asked, trying to ward her off, but she persisted. "Mistakes do happen. She might be bisexual." She said. I looked between the officer and Cassie, and I don't know where this spirit was coming from, but it said I should tell her my plans. "I sourt to leave this place, and she's my ticket out." I said in a low voice, not wanting the inmates sitting beside us to hear. She widened her eyes in surprise. She looked around, before she leaned in again. "Are you f*****g kidding me?" She whisper yelled. "Nope. Plans are already in motion." I said to her, as I finished my food. "Yo, I'm coming with you. Ain't my ass sitting out here for another decade." She said. I expected nothing less, I knew if I told her, she would ask to come with me. After breakfast, officer Jules cornered me in the bathroom. "How's my baby doing?" She asked, planting a deep kiss on my lips. Internally, burfed in disgust, but I couldn't show it. "I'm okay. Cassie overheard us last night, so she said she's coming with me if we want her to keep shut about it." "Oh f**k! You alone might be an issue, talk more of the 2 of you." She complained. "Do it for me baby. Please" I pleaded, giving her puppy eyes. She agreed almost immediately. She's stupid. "Tonight right?" I asked "Yeah. I'll miss you." She said, as we shared another kiss. We had a steamy moment in the bathroom before she left. I met with Cassie, and told her to prepare for that night. She was excited, but she managed to contain it. When lights were out, officer Jules came to get us. She sneaked us some warden uniforms to disguise us. Secretly and quietly, she led us out of the prison after we had promised to leave the country immediately. I smiled in satisfaction, as an air of freedom kissed my face. I'm coming for you Darcy.
