"So Ra, is your cafe always quiet and calm like this every day?", Sun Mi woke me up from my reverie.
"Oh? Aah no, because it's still morning so it's still quiet. Usually Minerva will be crowded after lunch or after school hours," I replied
Minerva is the name of my book cafe. My concept of this cafe is a combination of a library and a coffee shop. Minerva is not too big but has 3 floors. The ground floor is an office, a storeroom of books and other items and a place where my employees rest. The 1st floor is a reception, coffee shop and reading area. You can read while enjoying coffee, cakes and even chatting with your friends. While on the 2nd floor there is a children's reading area and an open area with chairs and tables. Minerva is located in yongsandong, not far from Itaewon. And surrounded by many schools and universities. That's the reason why I opened a cafe here. Although the rent here is quite expensive, this area is very crowded in certain seasons. And also only 10 minutes from my apartment.
"Will there be another live music performance here tonight?" Asked Sun Mi again while sipping her coffee
"Yes, every Friday and Saturday there is always a live musical performance. Tonight I will play the piano", I replied with a smile
"Wow, daebak! Then I'll come back again this afternoon with my friends," Sun Mi said excitedly
"Please ... I'll wait for you," I replied
Actually, I'm a bachelor of instrumental music at Seoul University. I've been playing the piano and guitar since I was kid. That's because my father is a pianist and composer in an orchestra in Gwangju. When I was young, I used to listen to my dad playing piano. And this is what made me fall in love with music.
However, besides liking music, I also really like reading. Books are my most valuable treasure. You can learn many things the from a book. And this is what made me open Book Cafe. I can combine all the things I like, books, music and snacks hahaha ...
"Oenni (sister)...a package of books came, they asked to see you", suddenly one of my employees approached
"Oh ... well I'll meet him. Thank you Ae ri", I replied
"Sun Mi, I have to go for a while, is it okay if I leave you for a moment?" I asked, standing up
"Ah no no ... I will also go. I have a meeting with the fabric supplier this afternoon. I will be back later this afternoon, okay," answered Sun Mi
"Alright then, see you later this evening," I said, smiling
"Yeah! So Ra, thank you for coming with me to the fansign," she answered as she left and waved her hand.
Finally Sun Mi left with a big smile on her face. And I rushed to my room to meet my guest.
