MCNAMARA TOOK HALF an hour to calm his raging thoughts. When his anger finally subsided, he sat down at his desk once more and grabbed the autopsy report. He scanned through the lines and then dialled an extension. “James, come to my office. Bring Mike and Jo with you,” he ordered in his regular voice. He didn’t wait for James’s response. He just put the receiver on the hook and leaned back in his chair. His wait wasn’t long. In less than five minutes, the three detectives filed into the room.
