As expected of Cynthia, she looked ready to murder me with her eyes as she can't literally in front of the whole pack. It looks like it was taking her a lot of energy to restrain herself, and to smile at me. She can't openly threaten me when almost everyone was looking at me or talking about me.

It must be hard for her to see this. As she like to be the center of attention, and now even when she has just returned after so long everyone is ignoring her their attention on me and eric. She must be furious on the inside, but she hides it well. I bet she will take it out on me once she finds me alone. I have to make sure that I am not alone with her until I leave for the academy. But how do I get rid of her now?

“Are you here to congratulate?” ruth asked making her growl at her, she won't do anything to ruth as ruth’s father is the right hand of alpha Brandon. At least she can talk back to her on my behalf. Ruth doesn’t care that I am an omega or that I am an outsider. She has been my friend since she saw my glittery pencils in the third grade, and I let her keep them. We have been together ever since.

Cynthia ignored her and came closer to me to intimidate me with a menacing look in her eyes. I looked away not wanting to give myself away “How did you get in? You are an omega, and you have no powers, did you perhaps sleep you way into int?” she whispered in my ears, making me clench my hands in anger. That is what she wants to get a reaction out of me. Ruth snarled beside me. She looked like she would murder her. I grabbed her hand, stopping her before she did anything.

“You can't let her walk all over you Anaya.” she pressed; I have no other choice. I can't do anything as it will jeopardies the who pack with my single slip up.

“What can she do she is an omega with no powers, she doesn’t even have a wolf.” Cynthia mocked.

Before any of us could say anything eric walked in “Anaya, where have you been? I have been looking for you.” he said smiling in a goofy way. He doesn’t seem to notice Cynthia “hi eric.” she said with a sweet smile. She turned into an angel as soon as she saw her, I guess I am the only one she reserves her devil side for.

“Oh Cynthia! Hi.” he said, she was twirling her hair looking at him through her lashes. He completely ignored her, turning to me, he said, “your father was looking for you. Come on I'll take you.” We went inside the house; it was a beautiful house, with a cozy feel to it nestled amongst tall trees, surrounded by the natural beauty of the forest. The exterior of the house has a rustic appearance, with a sloping roof and exposed beams. The windows, large and plentiful, offering plenty of natural light and glimpses of the surrounding forest. This one is the biggest of all the houses. It blends seamlessly with the environment around it. With large windows that allow plenty of natural light to filter in and provide stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.

The backyard and the front yard were lined with ferns and wildflowers. The sound of wolves howling, and some upbeat song fills the air.

The inside of the house has a warm and inviting atmosphere. As it is the house of the alpha even the drunk ones were careful not to trash it. The interior was decorated with wood and stone, giving it a rustic and earthy feel.

We went around the living room, which was filled with eric's friends watching TV, a fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room, providing warmth and a cozy spot to relax. Not like we need it. It is only used as décor.

We stopped by the kitchen so he could grab a drink all while I avoided looking at him. I have made it clear that there could be nothing between us. I don’t want him to get any ideas. The kitchen was equipped with modern appliances but still maintained a rustic charm, with wooden cabinets and a farmhouse sink. I also grabbed a soft drink as I had left mine in the backyard.

We were in the drawing room where alpha and Luna were sitting on the couch with father. On the other hand, they seemed to be discussing something. When we entered, they gave us a smile. Dad had a teary smile on his face. I went to him concerned, "Dad, what happened?" I asked him.

"nothing ana." he said, wiping the tears away. "it's just that our alpha and Luna have offered to take on the expenses for your studies and they are also going to arrange for your transport. I am just so grateful to have been serving such a kindhearted alpha.", it is true that we are lucky to have him as our alpha, but it was a debt I was not ready to accept. I work part-time since I can to provide my share in the house as I don't want to be a burden on dad, and he is someone who isn't even related to me. it was also a part of the reason i didn't wanted to go to the arcane arts academy. because we will not be able to afford it. now with alpha paying it will be easier. it was something that i was embarrassed to accept but have no choice but to.

"My respect for you has been ever increasing since you have become our alpha. if you want to pay for my education i have a condition." I said, eliciting a shocked looks from them. They were not expecting me to have any conditions. "I will pay it back. every cent. I will pay it back to you."
