I was pacing in the living room while dad was on the couch looking at me with an apologetic expression. There is nothing he or anyone can do to make this right.
“Anaya,” he started. I held my hand up, stopping him. I can’t listen to his excuses. It won’t right the wrong.
“What will you do when I am not here? How will you take care of yourself?” He can’t even make a sandwich for himself. How will he survive if I leave him here alone?
I was on the verge of crying just thinking about leaving him alone. He had burned the kitchen when I had left him alone for the weekend to go out with my friends.
As if I didn’t have enough worries plaguing me now, I also have to worry about him.
“I am sorry.” He said slowly, sensing my raising anger. I took a deep breath trying to control the tears, the anger, the fear. It was so overwhelming. My head started spinning, making me stop mid-pace. I grabbed ahold of a chair to ground myself.
“Hey! It’s okay, everything will be fine.” He was in front of placing his hands in the air trying to placate me. But it only made me angrier.
I pushed him away, and when he tried to come closer again, I glared at him, making him shrink back in fear, his wolf whining.
At that sound, I came to my senses.
I was ashamed to see my dad cower in fear. “I am sorry dad. I am so sorry.” He hugged me to him, patting me on the head to calm me as tears started flowing from my eyes.
I guess he knew from the start. That I was not an omega.
It was common for a wolf to submit to the alpha wolf. If the alpha wolf is angry, the other wolves will get scared.
And dad is only an omega. I let my anger control me. He will know that I am not an omega.
When he first brought me here, I was 5 years old. I knew that I was far more powerful than the alpha of this pack, but I couldn’t display my powers in front of others. They will immediately know who I am. When they tested me, I forced myself to submit to an omega wolf. So that they will forget about me, as no one cares about an omega. Not in the way that matters. They are treated like fragile beings, they are compared to alpha and beta.
Omega can’t hold eye contact with alpha or omega wolves as they are more powerful than them.
I had avoided even looking at others for more than a few seconds this long so that no one would know.
“I know that you are not an omega but someone more powerful than I can imagine. You are my responsibility. I cannot let you waste your talent in a good for nothing place like this. The Goddess only gives power to those who deserve it. And you, my precious little pup, deserve everything in the world.” He said, wiping the tears from my face.
“You don’t have to tell me what you are hiding. I will always be with you. No matter what.” tears came harder when I heard him say that.
“I love you.” I said,
“I love you too,” he planted a kiss on my forehead, hugging me tightly. He is an angel that was sent for me. I wish he was my real father. I would have loved to be called his daughter. I love him no less than I love my real father.
I think the goddess sent me another father when she took my real one. I love both of them equally. They both share equal space in my heart. I thanked the goddess for giving me such an amazing person.
Footsteps sounded outside our house, I wiped my tears and combed my hair with my fingers. We both became alert as we smelled the alpha of our pack. A knock sounded on our front door. Father went to open it. And sure enough, it was alpha Brendon.
“Alpha Brendon.” We both bowed to him, showing our respect that he had come to our house. He must be here to talk about my acceptance into the academy. He had already congratulated father outside when he was telling everyone about me. There was a new smell that accompanied him. A frown appeared on my forehead when I recognized the smell. It was eric. Sure enough, there he was with a small smile on his face staring at me. I gave him a forced smile.
The respect I have for alpha Brendon is incomparable as he keeps the pack together. He is loyal to his pack and always puts his pack's safety first. Eric follows in his father's footsteps, preparing to become the next alpha of the mystic howl pack. He is great, easy on the eyes, and with a great smile. The only reason he brings a frown to my face is that he likes me. There is nothing wrong with him liking me.
There is a Satan's spawn named Cynthia. She likes eric. And she has done nothing to hide it. She would tell anyone who would listen that she would become his mate, the next Luna of the pack. I hope that she doesn’t. With all my heart I can even pray every day to the goddess to prevent that from happening. When she gets the hint that Eric doesn’t like her, but in fact, he likes an omega girl who was adopted by an omega, it will not be an exaggeration to say that she was ballistic.
She has since then made it her life's mission to bully me at every twist and turn of my life. And she is rather successful in that, making my life a living hell in the last four months. I was happy that she was out of town, but then she returned just yesterday.
