I thought the glimmer was a diamond, but it turned out to be shards of glass that cut. *** I glared at the two of them in turn. My jaw clenched tightly. Both hands balled into fists to hold back anger. A truly immoral pair. Disappointment welled up inside me. One couldn't have the child, so the father stepped in. One belonged to the child, but the father tried first. "Pack all your belongings. Make sure nothing is left behind," I said sharply to the woman. Her innocent face looked shocked, pleading with me. "Forgive me, Harry," she said. I sneered. She still dared to ask for forgiveness? "I don't want to see you in my house again after this," I continued, ignoring her apology.
